Business Title : Area Account Manager

Department or Business Unit : GSC F&A delivery Management

Supervisory Responsibilities : Managing a small team of accountants depending on country size

Reports To : IBS Delivery Leader

Education required : CA/CMA Qualified

Purpose :

- Maersk is looking for a finance professional to take up the position of Team Manager The position is based in the GSC and reports to the IBS Delivery Leader, with shared KPI's with the IBS Finance Manager.

- He / She is overall responsible for financial reporting & analysis for the country, coordinating the financial book-keeping and providing the Country Finance Manager with accurate, timely, and comprehensive quality financial information and feedback on performance and business plans.

- It is the GL Team managers responsibility to ensure that appropriate financial controls and policies are in place. He / She is expected to be committed to supporting the corporate and business strategies, adding value and maintaining close and strong relationship with country and GSC stake holders.

Prime responsibilities include :

- Complete and correct accounting of the country's result every month in line with APMM GAAP.

- Ensure that the accounting system is up-to-date with all transactions.

- Ensuring Period end close is completed as per schedule and reviewing all the work completed by the team.

- Monthly reconciliation for all accounts, with no items open beyond agreed SLA

- To ensure that adequate visibility of all items in the P&L and Balance Sheet is provided to all stakeholders and deliver necessary management reports.

- All bank reconciliations done as per requirement and timelines.

- Coordinate with other departments and teams in GSC - Operations, Hr etc.

- Coordination with internal and external auditors, as required.

Technical :

- Degree in Accounting/Audit/Finance or equivalent with understanding of GAAP and IFRS guidelines

- Exposure to book close and audits (internal / external)

- Microsoft office (excel is a must)

- SAP / HFM experience will be added advantage

- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

- Minimum 5 years experience in managing the day to day functioning of Finance & Accounts

- Taking ownership of the Country P&L and Balance sheet and hence possibility to interact with higher management, ability to show accountability and drive.

- Leadership - leader of others - demonstrating ability to manage small specialist teams, groom talent and keep staff motivated and engaged

- Learn organizational agility and effective communication

- Overall Control Dashboard scores of the cluster

- Cluster Finance managers KPI

- EES Results Target vs. Actual

- Attrition rate of knowledge resources less than 10%
