Responsible for cargo movement and intermodal cost leadership with timely dispatch.  Lead and implement cost saving and process improvement initiatives  Lead and coach a team of colleagues towards cost effectiveness, and customer service excellence  Key responsibilities  - Run the business by managing all day-to-day activities which are supported by the Inland Execution team in the GSC  - Ensure that all store door import and export requirements are adhered to, including meeting and exceeding customer requirements and expectations, safety, documentation and regulatory requirements  - Initiate and resolve complex cargo dispatch issues and ensure solutions are fully implemented within the teams  - Drive cost leadership  - Monitor, record and report cost savings, service failures, cost changes, and any other input towards key measurements  - Actively pursue cost saving initiatives to drive down intermodal, positioning, and storage costs  - Ensure cost recovery on any extra costs and measure the team on logging performance.  - Participate and contribute towards the ML operating system and to build that culture in the team  - Work closely with other Maersk business units, including Customer Service, Sales and TnM to ensure the timely and cost effective movement of customer cargo  - Key Stakeholder management - Build a good working relationship with vendors and customers to ensure customer satisfaction  - Ensure all new change initiatives are implemented by the team  - Supervise and develop your team through learning and development, coaching, goal setting, periodic feedback and reviews.  - Bachelor's degree and five or more years of experience in the transportation industry or and equivalent combination of education and experience  - At least 2 years of management experience required  - Required Business/Technical Knowledge  - Demonstrated leadership and team management skills  - Strong understanding of transportation industry and in particular internal shipment cost drivers  - Articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills  - Organizational and time management skills - multi-tasking and prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and high level goals  - Conflict resolution and negotiation - bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences  - Drive for results - drives for results and success, conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure, persist despite obstacles and opposition  - Team player - works together with others in the business unit to achieve results, fosters teamwork  - Proven ability to deliver under pressure  - Working knowledge of MS office products and ability to quickly adapt to softwareey measures  - List 2-5 key measures/success criteria  - Deliver on the cost leadership targets set  - Improve customer satisfaction  - Updated by/date   Good experience in supply chain management/logistics/freight background coupled with a customer service mindset.
