Job Title: General Manager-Group Internal Audit

Location: Bangalore, MG Road Office

Reports to: Global Head-Group Internal Audit

Team that reports to the role: 5 Audit Managers (all qualified CAs)

Remit: Corporation-wide

Travel: 15 days a month for 8-9 months of the year (discipline of 15 days travel and 15 days in Bangalore is adhered to)

Job Purpose: Provide independent assurance on the adequacy and robustness of internal controls in various units within the Coats globally and support East & West Hemisphere Management to address control deficiencies.

Provide independent assurance on the adequacy and robustness of internal controls in various units within the Coats globally and support East & West Hemisphere Management to address control deficiencies.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities

- Execute annual audit plan by undertaking high quality reviews assigned to Group Internal Audit (Global Internal Audit) India Team and ensuring full and timely completion of assigned tasks.

- Supervise and direct subordinates, ensuring key risk areas are thoroughly audited such that control gaps are identified for resolution.

- Develop practical action plans in coordination with Unit Management and ensure control standards are adhered.

- Undertake special assignments as and when entrusted and complete them on a timely basis providing unambiguous conclusions.

- Support Head-GIA to standardise internal audit practices across Brazil & China team by sharing best practices.

- Drive the Coats Control Self-Assessment (CCSA) process through a robust platform to facilitate self-assessment and benchmark them against best practices.

- Organise training in latest audit techniques for the auditors to enhance their skills and facilitate their professional development.

- Finance and Business leaders within Coats

- Finance and Line managers as relevant to audit

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

- Qualified Accountant (Chartered Accountant)

- Expert knowledge of risk based audit and business and adequate knowledge of process controls in SAP R/3 with minimum of 12- 15 years- experience - majority in manufacturing industry is essential while SAP is preferable

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to develop & manage a team of professionals

- Good inter-personal skills for conducive working with Global & Divisional Managements

- Ability to get into details without losing sight of the macro picture.

Desirable

- Previous experience in undertaking Internal Audits
