Leadership & Development - Training - KPO (6-12 yrs)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Training Consultant position is responsible for design, development, and implementation of learning products and programs geared to improve team performance. Guides the formulation of the company's learning strategy for the Organization. Serves as a key learning liaison for client groups and peers. Operates & works to integrate leadership principals in learning solutions. Supports the training program for all / specific client groups. Modifies internal training and retraining curriculum for the Organization, taking into consideration the tenure of the program, as well as cultural differences that would affect understanding. Curriculum is designed for new hire training and retraining of existing staff for new programs, systems, procedures and guest service techniques. Additional responsibilities include maintaining vendor relationships and managing large scope projects.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design Leadership - Consults with client groups, senior leadership and professional peers to identify learning problems and their causes. Uses this information to design effective training or performance support solutions. Researches academic and trade literature to discover important innovations and trends in learning; applies these new methods, when feasible, to advance the performance of store teams.

2. Project Leadership - Responsible / leads the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned training and performance support projects. Directs the activities of project team members; coaches them to deliver top-quality, timely products; and obtains necessary resources for the project team's success. Controls expenditures to meet project budgets.

3. Learning Strategy Formulation - Determines current and future learning needs by analyzing business goals and objectives; identifying key organizational, environmental, and human factors; considering client input; and assessing current team performance. Uses this data, plus outside research, to formulate both short and long-term learning strategies.

4. Program Development & Implement - Develops learning programs, respecting both the original design and the project timing and action. Uses appropriate instructional tactics and media to meet the design objectives. Plans and directs implementation for learning plan and programs, creating support materials when needed. Assists clients in correct use of new and ongoing programs. Conducts classroom training programs and makes appropriate arrangements for participants, materials, and facilities.

5. Program Evaluation - Evaluates the effectiveness of learning products and programs by designing approaches to measure learners- reactions, the amount of learning and application that took place, and the impact on the business.

6. Client Service - Regularly meets with clients to keep current on business objectives and immediate and long-term learning needs. Serves as a key learning liaison and expert for clients by performing research, making recommendations, and documenting and sharing knowledge.

8. Team Supervision and Development - Supervises the Training Coordinator. Delegates and distributes work; trains and coaches for performance; helps coordinate and set priorities for activities. Coaches new team members and peers to improve their professional skills.

Seven to ten years experience in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training or performance improvement programs.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

- Advanced degree in psychology, training and development, or organizational development

- One to three years experience in training or organizational development consulting

- Familiarity with retail operations
