Lead - Shopper Marketing - FMCG (8-12 yrs)

Job Description :
- Client aims to become world class in shopper marketing. And the Shopper Marketing-Lead is key to this vision. S/He will evangelize the role the shopper marketing can play to accomplish brand objectives. S/He will identify key shopper insights/formulate shopper propositions and bring them alive.
- S/He will be a thought leader on what works in terms of shopper investments/ shopper messaging to influence the shopper in his path to purchase. S/He must have an aptitude to build his shopper marketing skills and demonstrate thought leadership in this.
- S/He is an individual contributor who leads the shopper marketing vertical. S/He is directly responsible for the portfolio of key categories. As the shopper marketing lead, s/he will also have a dotted line responsibility for the shopper mktg resource housed in other categories.
- This is a role that has existed for more than 2 years.
His / Her Responsibilities will be as follows :
Shopper Marketing : PLANNING AND STRATEGY :
- Creating Annual plans for each brand/channel
- With the ME head & Category leads defining the shopper marketing goals for the year ( strategic across brands as well as brand-specific)
INFLUENCING STAKEHOLDERS :
- In the early stages, define the shopper task along with the brand team. Facilitate a common ground between Brands, Insights teams, Customer Marketing teams, External collaborators & other agencies to ensure a smooth execution of projects.
- Interfacing between LOC and Global shopper marketing teams for two way flow of information/best-practices
TEAM/AGENCY MANAGEMENT :
- Getting agencies to propose and customize Brand Activation Solutions to brand's Needs and evaluating the same and making one consolidated master plan for each brand for the year
- Developing and maintaining healthy relationship with the key agencies
- Ensuring that the team achieves their Targets
- Ensuring that the motivation and Attrition of Team is well under control.
PROJECT DELIVERY :
- Articulating and agreeing on goals/timelines at early stage of the project
- Ensure all projects follow the appropriate SLAs & deliver to business timelines
- Ensuring reporting and feedback mechanism
EXAMPLES : of projects done in the past - Design the planogram for key categories
- Identify key POS elements that work effectively in GT/MT/Outlets
- Develop shopper insights/ propositions for key launches / skus.
- Creating shopper propositions for various channels/ markets in line with brand task
- Exploring new technologies for building shopper insights / visuals and store traffic/loyalty
DESIRED PROFILE :
EXPERIENCE :
- 9 - 12 years in the FMCG Sales & Marketing. He is a passionate consumer marketer who has a flair for understanding the key consumer insight and converting it into most motivating propositions.
- He must have held a front line-sales role (2-3 yrs +) and later moved to fmcg brand/shopper marketing (5 yrs+).
- Prior knowledge of shopper marketing is not essential. But a drive to pick up the best practices in shopper marketing is essential for success.
- He will as the shopper expert be able to discern between various approaches and apply sound judgement to choose the right approach.
EDUCATION :
MBA Marketing from a reputed institute.
