Our client is looking for a qualified person to lead a team of highly talented and passionate data analytics professionals working on developing math-based solutions to complex real-world problems using Operations Research, Statistics, Econometrics, and Machine Learning. The goal of the division is to drive evidence-based decision making by providing insights from data. The team is focused on working across a wide range of functions such as Manufacturing, Supply chain, Logistics, Warranty/Quality, Advanced Operations, etc
Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position:
- Lead and contribute to analytics projects in the areas of manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, purchasing, and product development
- Collaborate with global partners in understanding business needs and translating the needs into analytical problem formulations
- Use appropriate statistical/optimization tools and methods to create robust solutions for business problems
- Research and implement novel quantitative modeling approaches
- Mentor a team in the areas of optimization and statistical modeling
Profile
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Operations Research/Statistics/Applied Mathematics/Engineering optimization or any other related discipline,
- 8+ years of analytics experience in the domains of manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, product development
- In-depth technical knowledge and experience in Operations Research, Engineering Optimization, and Statistical modeling: including Bayesian and non-parametric statistics
- Hands-on experience in developing statistical and optimization models for applications in manufacturing, supply-chain, logistics, and product development
- Ability to translate a business problem into an analytical problem, recommend, implement and validate predictive/prescriptive models, and generate/deliver insights to stakeholders
- Experience in using at least one of: optimization tools like CPLEX, AMPL, GAMS; statistical tools like R, SAS, Matlab; and programming languages like C, C++, JAVA
- Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities
