Lead Data Scientist

Profitable Big Data analytics start up in Mumbai is seeking for a bright, engaged data scientist

Job description:

- Information retrieval or acquisition of new data sets, parsing the data sets, filtering, curating and organizing large volumes of data through use of tools and other automated means

- Implement clustering and predictive algorithms for the financial and retail industries. Understand the problem context and implementing the algorithms into high quality software programs

- Mining for data patterns in very large data sets and representing data visually

- Building search indexes and relevance tuning algorithms

- Participate in a highly fluid environment applying agile software development principles

- Carry out unit tests and other quality control mechanisms to inform and validate the designs and code

Pre-requisites:

- 6+ years experience working in cutting edge and upcoming and challenging technologies

- Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, NoSQL also in

- Machine Learning technology like Mahout, R, LingPipe, Lucene

- Hands on experience with NOSQL databases

- Broad knowledge of version control systems

- Fast learner with Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

Technical skills:

- Languages: C++, Java, Ruby, Pyton

- Big Data: Hadoop, Hive, MongoDB.

- Machine Learnin : Mahout, R.

- Text Mining: openNLP, LingPipe, Lucene (Solr,

- Frameworks: MVC, MVC2, Spring MVC

- Internet Tech : Web Services, Java Beans, RMI, JDBC, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery, XML (DOM and SAX parsers), XSL, XSLT.

- Databases & ORM : Mongo DB, HBASE, Casandra
