Title: Lead Analyst

Skill Set:

- Qualifications would include a post graduate degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field (Qualified CFA, CA, FRM) from Tier 1 or Tier 2 Colleges, along with specific experience in fund research and fund house due diligence.

. Experience in analyzing funds, asset management companies, hedge fund companies or banking institutions is preferable. Out of the total experience at least 2 years in analyzing mutual funds in must.

- Strong analytical insight and analytical skills with the ability to demonstrate rational, well-articulated and timely decisions.

- Good knowledge of relevant financial markets, macro-economic environment, theory, tools, strategies and managers.

- Good interpersonal skills, especially communication skills (this has particular relevance in relation to the conference calls with portfolio managers that are an important part of the mutual fund due diligence) and the ability to communicate remotely.

Roles:

- To undertake detailed and rigorous research of mutual fund products and prepare quality mutual fund research reports. The research process will incorporate analysis around the following components.

Performance and Volatility Profile

- Preparation for a due diligence call with the Portfolio Manager is the key to any good research. Lead Analyst to look at all facets of the fund both qualitative as well as quantitative to prepare a list of questions for the due diligence call. Where the call is being conducted by an Analyst/Senior Analyst, it is the role of the Lead Analyst to own the secondary review completely. He/She should dedicate sufficient time in analyzing the material so as to provide quality inputs to the Agenda prepared by the primary analyst and ensure that the agenda meets the quality standards. He/she should actively participate in the call and guide the primary analyst where required to maintain an engaging discussion with the FMG participant.

- Independently responsible for client interactions on specific projects to ensure end to end delivery. Establish a strong relationship with the respective clients and act as a prime point of contact and ensure prompt and effective communication by providing regular update on status of various research deliverables, participate in the monthly calls and handle routine queries from various stakeholders.

- Apart from managing fund level due diligence, lead analyst is required to exhibit flexibility and initiation to accommodate adhoc projects. He/She should exhibit his/her project management skills by scoping the project to understand the objective, designing a series of steps, delegate the task amongst the respective peers while retaining what he/she is supposed to do, supervising the progress as well as guiding the peers to ensure quality delivery of output in a timely manner. It is imperative that he attains absolute clarity on the 'ask' so that wastage of time and efforts is minimized.
