The Capability Solutions Manager works with the Capability Solutions Lead and entity business leaders to create and implement the capability development strategy for one or more industries, service lines, service groups, or specialties. This includes managing the development and deployment of the knowledge, collaboration, communication and training enablers as outlined in the entity capability strategy, leveraging shared services as appropriate. This position may supervise one or more specialists, senior specialists, as well as overseeing the work of potentially sizeable shared services teams.
- Implementation of entity strategy, asset, and curriculum planning activities
- Play a key role in helping to define, develop and implement the entity capability strategies, ensuring that skill, knowledge and behavioral needs are met.
- Confirm business requirements, conduct capability assessments to identify performance and skill gaps and recommend gap closure strategies for their area of responsibility.
- Work with sponsors to define specific Capability Development strategy according to the business/market demands, priorities, and company’s strategies.
- Define integrated curriculum that meets business requirements and is aligned with training financial guidelines (i.e., is affordable) and supports the capability blueprint.
- Work with sponsors and SMEs to architect innovative solutions that address specific capability gaps within the entity business plan, applying best practices, leveraging other groups within the Capability Development Center of Expertise, and utilizing external solutions, as appropriate.
- Understand what elements of the Capability Strategy for the target entity/entities require internal certification. Identify training and assessment requirements and work with the Global Certification team to manage program requirements. Provide input to required enablement process.
- Where required, initiate and ensure successful vendor certification and enablement process.
- Lifecycle management
- Provide requirements to various Capability Infrastructure and Capability Operations teams for session planning, scheduling and asset management activities.
- Monitor and communicate impact of assets and curricula related to centrally sponsored assets.
- Perform portfolio analysis and asset lifecycle management activities.
- Deployment
- Serve as escalation point to Training Operations as they monitor session enrollment to ensure full sessions; work with leadership to escalate issues with low enrollment.
- Serve as escalation point to Training Operations as they procure faculty for key schools; work with business leaders to fill vacancies. Define modified process for securing faculty for courses requiring complex/specialized skills.
- Interfaces with other groups
- Identify needs for new learning architectures or innovations, working with Capability Strategy and Architecture to develop, test, deploy and manage.

- Define, develop and implement specific Capability Development plans (KM, Collaboration, Curricula, etc.) in support of the capability strategy for their area of responsibility.
- Attend business entity leadership and operations calls to partner in addressing and meeting the overall needs of their domain.
- Asset development and deployment
- Build relationships across business functions to ensure entities overall objectives are met collaboratively including CD COE teams (e.g. Strategy, Operations, Infrastructure), Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, Research, and Learning.
- Define and execute processes, knowledge content, collaboration plans and learning assets for building capability.
- Provide program management support for development projects leveraging Company’s shared service delivery centers, sponsors or leveraging external vendors.
- Assist in identifying and managing SME resources for development projects.
- Assist in securing pilot participants and faculty
- Provide input required to address day to day development decisions and escalate issues to sponsor when required for resolution.
- Manage financial aspects of development budgets for sponsors.
- Assist in securing pilot participants and faculty.
- Define, manage and deliver self-service training development projects where there is minimal budget including Rapid eLearning, Virtual/Centra/Webinar, hot topic events, and podcasts.
- Drives efforts to select and contract with external vendors when required. Assist with vendor relationship management and managing vendor performance.
- Maintain assets for ongoing delivery enlisting support for deployment from appropriate areas. Coordinate maintenance of CD systems such as mylearning, the Knowledge Exchange, and Company’s Groups.

- Serve as a trusted advisor to, and partner closely with, entity business leaders and their designess in addressing and meeting the evolving needs of their domain.

- Communicate required and available training via newsletter and targeted mailings.

- Review, map and process skill needs as part of the Capability Framework skills maintenance requirements. Work with the skill planning leads to ensure that the single skills inventory reflects the current view of the business.

Experience/Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in business, organization development, adult learning or equivalent experience
