Position :

- The Research Project Managers at Laterite are responsible for the quality and timely delivery of research projects from beginning to end. This involves:

i) leading research teams, from both an operational and technical perspective

ii) managing communication with clients

iii) ensuring that all work achieves the highest possible standards of technical rigor by overseeing and contributing to each step of the research process.

- This requires providing technical leadership in program and impact evaluation design - such as regression discontinuity design, matching methods, matched cluster randomized control trials - sampling methods, econometric modelling, standard error adjustments for clustering, as well as network analysis and complexity methods. Compensation is competitive with similar roles in other research firms. Benefits include generous leave, health insurance and personal/company bonuses.

Minimum requirements :

Masters degree in economics, public policy, statistics and/or an engineering degree from a top university with direct experience in social sciences and international development; and at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in leading think tanks or consultancies.

Additional competencies include :

i) published work in international economic journals;

ii) excellent use of STATA and/or R (development of programs and algorithms), econometrics, impact evaluation methodologies and network analysis;

iii) outstanding technical and managerial skills;

iv) proficient communication in English;

v) excellent interpersonal skills;

vi) attention to detail;

vii) proven ability managing multiple tasks and people efficiently;

viii) and, be an independent and motivated self-starter who will thrive in a start-up environment by taking ownership and initiative.
