Katha - Director - Finance (8-10 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Managing and providing direction and guidance to the finance team and ensure efficient day-to-day financial operations

- Update and implement accounting practices and internal control measures

- Review and update the finance department's overall policy and procedure manual as necessary

- Supervision of the effective performance & control of all finance functions including cash receipts, receivables, payables, cash disbursements, bank reconciliations, cash flow, and preparation of financial statements.

- Responsible for preparation of financial reports for resource agencies/donors in accordance with contract agreements

- Liaise with Internal Auditors and Statutory Auditors on Terms Of Reference and other required audit activities

- Responsible for six monthly and annual audit and review of audit reports

- Interact with donors and facilitate the audit visit of donor staff or their representatives

- Finalization and timely submission of reports pertaining to all statutory requirements including audits, taxes, other regulatory bodies.

- Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports with variance analysis to the Core team/programme leaders and ensure effective budget planning, monitoring and utilization

- Lead annual planning process and budgeting, and administer & review all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress and keep the management abreast of the organization's financial status

- Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate

- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting

- Collect, prepare and disseminate relevant materials pertaining to changes in laws and filing of returns to the management and the Core team

- Prepare and present necessary information for meetings of the Audit Committee, Board Core team and HR team etc

- Establish and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally to achieve the vision and mission of the organization

- Oversee payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner

- Negotiate and manage the employee insurance and benefits plans

- Conduct trainings and orientation to staff and other organizations on financial management systems and procedures

Qualifications & Experience :

- CA / MBA Finance/ Masters degree in Commerce

- Minimum 8 years of working experience in NGO sector and a strong track record in managing reputed national level NGOs/development organisations

- Strong analytical and presentation skills

- Knowledge in Societies Act, FCRA, Income Tax Act, Service Taxes, Companies Act 1956, Employment Standards & Statutory benefits, etc
