Position: Global Support Junior Cost Accountant  Job Title: Junior Cost Accountant  Grade: MM1  Job Location: Navi Mumbai, Koperkhirane  Job Purpose / Key Objective:  - Extracts financial data from various accounting and information systems and performs financial analyses of business figures.   - Assembles, creates and/or formats data reports with the use of various advanced software applications.   - Interprets financial data to determine past performance and/or to project the financial probability.   - Determines costs of the business operations and recommends budget adjustments as well as other cost improvement measures.   - Performs cost benefit analysis related to business projects and/or programs and assists in the development of business proposals.   - Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis.   - Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions / events in accordance with valid accounting principles.   - Interprets financial transactions / events for the ones who must make economic or business decisions.   - Participates in the development of various types of budgets.   - Collects / compiles budget data, completes budget status reports and analyzes budget patterns as well as projects expenditures.   - Assists in the development and maintenance of budget monitoring systems.   - Provides information on and answers questions relating to budget procedures.   - Identifies budget issues, provides alternative solutions and helps in the resolution of problems.  - Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws / regulations and verifies documents for completeness and compliance.   - Gets familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/HS&E standards and acts in compliance with all their regulations.   Responsibilities:  - Expat control and re-charging. The cost control model needs to be maintained and kept up-to-date; including cross charges to legal entities worldwide need to be prepared, documented and executed.  - Focos gate keeping. The Foreign Office Cost (Focos) allocation principle is a smooth running process that is used by more than 70 entities worldwide to charge cost related to corporate and global functions to HQ. From HQ this cost is allocated back as part of CMSS, Pass Through or BA Cross Charges to BU/SMU as well as some of it is retained corporate cost; template needs to be maintained, questions from the Focos contacts worldwide need to answered   - CMS mismatches analysis: Mismatches based on invoiced cost as well as mismatches based on (agreed) accruals are more common and not always properly explained/solved.  - Open intercompany position analysis. Analysis need to be made why some entities have difficulties in getting (foreign) payments made, whilst other entities in the same country apparently don- t have that issue. A process needs to be put in place, i.e. SLA's to ensure cross charges are settled at all times without delay.   - BA Cross charging. Costs are gathered centrally and charged back to the BU/SMU's based on BA instructions. Cost are allocated from legal entities to HQ central cost centers at month end need to be analysed. Cross charges to BU/SMU need to be prepared, documented and executed: Agreement on monthly accrual to be sought before noon CET WD1 during month end close, annual invoice to be prepared, documented and executed at year end  - Cost deep dives in agreed focus cost areas (SCoA cost elements)  - Analyze the major cost deviations against previous year and budget; includes analysis of major delta's and developments compared to PY and budget  - Communication with Functional Director Control Corporate Functions as well as the Functional Director SRD and participate in selected initiatives in the wider finance community  - Actively interact with the functional controllers on common areas such as cost, cost allocation, process harmonization and reporting issues  - General & ad hoc analysis and control support  - Support in ad hoc projects related to the HQ functions  Job Requirements:  - Chartered Accountant from ICAI  - 2+ years- experience as analyst or as accounting for a manufacturing entity, preferably MNC  - Strong analytic skills and the ability to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex financial information for decision making  - Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner  - Able to prioritize and work with multiple supervisors  - Strong - can-do- mentality and - drive- to accomplish tasks in an environment with multiple stakeholders  - Excellent knowledge of SAP (including Business Warehouse/Business Objects) and excellent Excel knowledge (power-user) as well as Hyperion (HFM) is a prerequisite  - Experience in - change management- in a finance environment  - Fluent in English, both verbal as well as in writing
