Associate Analyst (Technical)

JMN Investments Research (P) Ltd. requires an Associate Analyst to work within the Technical Research department that is primarily engaged in analyzing U.S. equity markets.

The primary role involves building up from scratch, and improving existing excel-based research databases for advanced analytics and process automation.

We're looking for motivated candidates who are considering opportunities to move into a quantitative data analysis-focused role in the investment research industry, and have meaningful coding experience and expertise in VBA.

Suitable candidates will be expected to implement their skills with immediate effect to work through and maintain the team's analytics datasets, with initial projects involving automation in existing static processes.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Building VBA macro-based automation models in excel for process-oriented tasks

- Managing existing research databases, contributing to design improvements

- Persuasively articulating automation ideas to improve the team's operational efficiency

- Designing and assisting the team in developing data processing macros in Excel VBA

- Gathering, organizing and analyzing data to evaluate repetitive trends

- Quantitative analysis and back-testing various datasets (Fixed income / Commodities / Currencies etc.)

Desired Candidate Profile:

- A genuine interest and passion for programming and quantitative analysis

- Education: Bachelor's Degree at minimum (any stream/background)

- Should have extensive knowledge of VBA and Advanced Excel (including Charts, Illustrations, Forms, and statistical analysis tools) as the candidate would be primarily engaged in database management, automation, design improvements using VBA Macros in MS Excel

- Should be proficient in dealing with large data sets and have good quantitative skills

- Excellent verbal and written fluency in English; effective interpersonal / communication skills

- Should be disciplined, possess the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

- Should be proactive in handling multiple deliverables; have high energy, clear goal orientation and a strong work ethic
