Methodology and Resources Advisor  Rwanda  9 months   VSO is the world's leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. VSO has extended its recruitment program to India through its partner iVolunteer Overseas (iVO). Volunteers recruited by VSO are placed in developing countries across Africa and Southeast Asia on a wide range of niche projects.  Role overview  The Education Program in Rwanda is currently recruiting teaching advisers. You will be placed at Zaza trading center - 20km to Kibungo, Rwanda.   A Teacher training college (TTC), under the ministry of education, will host you as a VSO volunteer. The aim of this role is to improve the overall quality of teaching and learning. Roles and responsibilities will include:  - You'll teach and coach tutors on active and child-centred methods   - You'll train pre-service teachers  - You'll support tutors and student teachers to develop their own teaching resources from locally available materials and train them in using them to teach lessons  - You'll advise on how to improve the curriculum  - You'll ensure resource development and teacher resource centres are operational and accessible   Additional to your teaching skills you'll also monitor and evaluate input and output of the implemented program.  Skills, qualifications and experience required  - It's essential that you hold at least a Bachelor degree in Education or have a Postgraduate qualification in Education, following your first degree. You have at least 3 years teaching experience in a primary school.   - You have experience in sharing learning with others and delivering professional development through workshops. You're skilled in making lesson observations, feedback and assessing teaching standards. You have knowledge and experience of making your own teaching aids and instructional methods.   - You're able to conduct a needs analysis and monitor and evaluate projects.
