Inventory Forecasting Analytics - eCommerce

Our client is a prominent name in eCommerce industry.

Looking for a Inventory Forecasting + Predictive Modelling Expert - This is a team lead role.

- The incumbent has to set up the seller analytics vertical and create the function and build the team.

- This will be for home and electronics vertical.

- The Home and Electronics Vertical contributes a major portion of the client's revenues, work with 30,000 sellers representing 1.5 million # of unique products.

Expectations from the Job:

The role is to build the Seller Analytics Unit, for the Home and Electronics Vertical, from scratch and grow it to a size where significant business impact is created. One line objective for the role is to - make our client the preferred and only choice for sellers to do business with.

The primary objective of the role is to help the Business teams:

- Forecast the right demand and thus Forecast the stock that needs to be purchased / warehoused

- Identifying fraudulent sellers and weed them out

- Ensure Seller Concentrated is minimized

- Drive Seller Customer Satisfaction

Other objectives from the Role:

- Develop Dashboards for Business teams so that they can monitor performance

- Minimize Returns from customers

- Enable sellers through dashboards, inventory mgmt & pricing help

- Monitor delivery times are within TATs and build alarm systems

We expect that person to be extremely sound from statistics perspective, and would have spent a significant amount of his professional time in developing Stock Forecasting / Stock-Out Prediction Models. Since, this is a Leadership role for the unit, he is supposed be the - go-to- person for statistical concepts and is expected to train junior analysts on forecasting concepts.

- While Inventory Forecasting is a core skill being looked for, expertise in building Prediction models (Logistic, Random Forests, Decision Trees, Neural Nets) would also be desirable.

- Lastly, the candidate needs to have a good understanding of Database concepts and ETL.

- We really don- t care about which language you use for modelling (SAS, R, MATLAB, etc)

Other Must-Haves:

- Should have worked in environments where huge amount of data is generated on a daily basis. Being from an e-commerce industry would be an added advantage

- Extremely strong business orientation, high problem solving skills with ability to clearly communicate thoughts in simple English.

- Believes all work is good and exciting, from data management to building predictive model, with focus on - getting things done
