Come join Intuit as a Data Engineering Manager in the Intuit Data Engineering and Analytics group. We are looking for creative problem solvers with a passion for product and technology, and who are looking to have fun and changing the world in the process.

About Intuit Data Engineering and Analytics (IDEA):

We care about making a difference in our customers’ lives with data. Concretely, go about achieving that in three different ways:

we build awesome data products:

a) core data products for Intuit: a/b testing, mastering, user segmentation, big data crunching building blocks such as funnel analysis, path analysis etc

b) advanced, directly customer-impacting data products:

- in existing Intuit products: personalization and recommendation

- in new products, leveraging Intuit’s commerce graph, implicit / transaction based social network, lending, cross-Intuit product recommendation apps etc.

- quickly become leaders in the data space: data engineering, data science, and data products - internally and externally; contribute to open-source heavily - existing projects and create new ones

- Intuit is transitioning from a product company to a technology company. Data Services is revolutionizing engineering @ Intuit, data driven decision making @ Intuit, building product @ Intuit. We are leading by example and deep partnership with all Intuit product teams: Mint, QuickBooks, TurboTax, SnapTax, Demandforce, Payroll, Payments etc.

Skills & Qualifications:

- executive-level verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with engineers, scientists, product managers, business leaders, internal and external clients

- cooperative, collaborative, open and flexible mindset

- strong technical skills in a subset of: engineering (Java, NoSQL, SOA etc), big data, distributed computing, data science, analysis, etc.

- critical thinking

- recent hands-on experience, ideally in an agile environment

- excellent leadership skills, ability to lead and grow teams

- strong people management experience and ability to build employee careers

- demonstrated ability to influence across boundaries and at all levels of the organization

- ability to create a fun, fast-paced, motivating and rewarding environment for her/his team and beyond

- proactive approach - solve pain points before they become critical and even before your colleagues voice them

- creative background - ability to turn problems and solutions on their head and come up with better designs, better technical solutions, and better products.

- startup experience - a plus

- plugged into the data engineering / data science community - a plus

- big data knowledge - a plus

- strong focus on open source and preferable expertise in open source contributions - a plus

- external presence in the data community (e.g. conferences, open source projects, meetups blogs, social media etc.) - a plus

- passionate about data and technology

- ability to recruit and build a top-notch, high-functioning technical team

- hunger to learn new concepts, new technologies, and be exposed to / adopt new ideas

- Minimum degree: Bachelors, strongly preferred Masters or Ph.D. Area of focus: engineering/science/applied math discipline. Minimum number of years experience: 10 with 2 to 4 years of managerial experience

- 3+ years experienced as an established technical leader of software engineering teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven software products.

- Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.

- Adept at articulating the product vision and drive the future roadmap with strong business acumen

- Ability to think and act strategically for all stakeholders

- Passion for being at the leading edge of technology with a minimum of 8-12 years of hands on software development experience (list specific tech exp)

- Experience with Agile development and methodologies and SaaS and/or mobile technologies

- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.

- BS in Computer Science / MIS or equivalent work-related experience
