Project Manager (IT Applications):

This purpose of this position is manage, enhance and administer online applications/portals that Grail develops for the client, as well build a strong in-house capability in terms of adoption and usage of industry leading technologies (platform, tools, etc.) and processes. The person will be engaged in managing complex and large application development projects and will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, client management, vendor management and negotiation, and team development.

- The person will also be responsible for building a strong knowledge base in the company and assisting in new client pitches and developing proposals for new RFQs.

- The Manager will also be responsible for identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement Initiatives for improving productivity and quality of our services to our customers and efficient utilization of resources in different projects, thus contributing to the bottom line.

Specific job responsibilities are :

Job Responsibilities :

- Translating Business Requirements into technical requirements for the Programming/Development team

- Translate Client Objectives from the application into technical requirements (creating wireframes and technical specifications documents)

- Undertaking a feasibility assessment of the client requirements and suggest alternatives in case of technical non-feasibility

- Create Wireframes and the corresponding technical specifications document that help visualize the application for the development team

Project Planning and Execution :

- Establish processes and trackers and share the progress with the client and other internal project stakeholders

- Assist the development team in case of any challenges and seek inputs from client / senior project stakeholder to continue with the progress

- Ensure completion and maintenance of capacity utilization on projects Monitor utilization and over-run of projects and come up with ways to avoid /minimize this

- Manage vendor communication and discussions on the project, and provide feedback, whenever required

Client Management and Communication :

- Lead client communication and engagement on ongoing projects and proposals and manage project delivery in line with client's expectations on quality and timely delivery

- Be the point of contact for any client questions, along with managing written communication, and engage in client calls

Development Team Guidance and Management :

- Assist team members in completing their assigned tasks and provide feedback on the delivered tasks

- Clearly lay out the daily and weekly tasks (and define roles) for each of the team members

- Mentor individuals, apart from project teams, in their career and professional aspiration

Quality Assurance :

- Develop documented Quality Assurance Plans and Checklist within the development/vendor team to ensure adherence to quality and processes

- Ensure that the application is thoroughly evaluated and tested for performance and functionality, prior to the application launch or a new release

- Ensure adherence to key operational timelines and quality metrics during the duration of the project

Proposal Development and Contract Negotiation :

- Create proposal covering both the technical bids (proposed solution) and the final bid on any requirements for enhancement of the application

- Seek costs from vendors (platform vendors, development vendors, etc.) and negotiate to arrive at agreeable pricing and scope, and manage scope creep during the project execution

- Showcase Grail's capabilities and experience in the domain aligning with the proposed client objectives and requirements

Skill Enhancement and Capabilities Expansion :

- Be at the forefront of new and emerging technologies in order suggest cutting-edge and industry leading solutions for our clients

- Broaden the knowledge and skills base in the company with regards to adoption and training on newer technologies and platforms

Skills Required :

- Proven expertise in leading and managing application development projects, with 4-5 years of relevant previous work experience

- Working Knowledge and Experience of Platforms and technologies such as Jive, Sharepoint, SQL, etc.

- Strong project management and client management skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks at a time

- Excellent communication skills

- Working knowledge MS Office skills - Word, Excel, Office and PPT

- Should have a positive attitude and be confident and solution oriented
