Department: Learning & Development   Location: Bangalore  Reports to: Director, Learning & Development  Description:   The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing learning and practicing experiences for both internal and external training requests. Under the direction of the Director of Learning and Development he/she will facilitate programs for learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. This role will have direct contact with key client contacts and as such will need to provide exemplary customer service and clear communication (verbal/written).  The Instructional Designer will personify positive customer service and maintain efficient work habits. He/she should be easily approachable and maintain a neat, organized appearance and work space. The Instructional Designer is expected to work at least 40 hours per week.  This role is an integral team member of the Learning & Development team part of the Service Quality & Training Division of company   Responsibilities  - Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer  - Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience's training needs  - State instructional end goals and create content that matches them  - Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product  - Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts  - Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods  - Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process  - Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)  - Decide on the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments  - Maintain project documentation and course folders  - Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups  - Able to handle fast-paced/customer-focused environment   - Monitor and process in timely manner all received training requests  - Communicate effectively to Account Managers and client contacts in a timely and appropriate manner regarding updates and/or questions to submitted training requests  - Actively work with SMEs to maintain and evaluate training content to ensure it is current and relevant   - Ability to facilitate trainings and workshops for both internal and external users  - Other duties and tasks as assigned based on business needs   Requirements :   - Bachelor's/Masters degree required  - Proven working experience in instructional design  - Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models  - Lesson and curriculum planning skills  - Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge  - Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System  - Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard  - Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts  - BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar preferred  Proficiency and competence with computer and application skills including :  - Excel  - Outlook  - Other Microsoft Office  - WebEx or other web conference system
