Innovation Prototyping Delivery Lead - Banking (8-12 yrs)

Role Purpose

The role holder will work on innovation initiative project teams, and will be responsible for leading the technical development of innovation concepts, particularly within the prototyping phase of innovation work. This resource will bring technical feasibility knowledge to innovation concepts and taking a lead role in iteratively and developing and launching prototypes for testing. They will also act as an advocate of agile methodology, being responsible for constantly coaching Operations staff in Agile methodology.

Principal Accountabilities

- Brings technology prototyping perspective and expertise to the development of innovation concepts

- Leads development of initial, early stage prototype that don- t require heavy IT or Technology team involvement - seeks input from IT when and if required and works on a prototype up until it's required to be handed over to IT to continue the build out

- Leads development of prototype planning and low-fidelity prototype development

- Rapidly implements changes through the prototype testing process

- Collaborates with IT resources to understand tech feasibility of an innovation idea within Operations

- Leads the shift to pilot phase, working with additional IT resources to build out and launch testing of a pilot-version of the concept, based on learnings from prototype

- Drives agile development principles within the prototyping team and facilitates the process and flow of information - thus acting as a - scrum master-

Customers / Stakeholders

- Ensures user insights are tested with prototype of innovation concept, and that user insights from prototyping exercise inform the iteration and improvement of innovation concepts to better serve user needs

- Collaborates with other internal business functions (e.g., IT) for prototype development

- Communicates outcomes and learnings from prototyping with sponsors and leadership

Leadership & Teamwork

- Contributes to and collaborates with related functions such as REPM, IT, Procurement, Compliance, Risk, Delivery teams etc

- Advances efforts of innovation initiative teams by enabling testing and user feedback

- Acts as an agile coach to business service/ business resources that become involved in the prototyping with the team

Additional Role Context

- The jobholder is required to work in an environment of significant ambiguity, with autonomy, dealing with major issues for which there is no clear solution whilst being able to provide judgment and clear direction

- The jobholder has substantial autonomy and authority. The jobholder ensures that challenges are made focused on business success

Operational Risk / FIM requirements

- The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation

- The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators

- This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

- Graduate level education

- Experienced scrum master or knowledge of agile methodology (2-3 years)

- Knowledge of testing methodology preferred

- Experience working within banking (Operations preferred)

- Experience working with user insights and design resources to deliver innovative output

- Experience working across cultures
