Description of job:

- To verify property / loan documents and offer views / clarification on securities, documents and legal issues arising out of the same and to facilitate disbursement within the prescribed TAT.

- To guide and advise on legal issues arising out in any transaction and to provide solution to mitigate the risk involved.

- To advise services on setting up of new branches & ATM's along with renewal of the lease agreement. renewal of the lease agreement. To assist and advise on HR legal issues.

-To provide assistance to branches in day to day affairs such as settling of death claim, account opening etc.

- To draft, vet and modify various documents required in connection disbursement

- To draft reply and vet the pleadings to the legal notices received, BO complaints and court cases. To vet agreements, lease deeds and other business related documents.

- To provide legal support in all litigation filed against bank and also to assist in all litigation filed by the bank. To appoint external counsel if required and monitor the proceedings.

- To provide assistance to internal customers in appearing before any court or authority.

- To guide internal customer on notices received from any statutory authority, police or any court. Coordinating with dealing Advocates on critical issues.

- To conduct periodic litigation review by collecting and collating the details from branches. To strategise future action plan basis the risk involved in the case.

- To categorize the cases in high, medium and low risk category and accordingly do the provisioning and to conduct quarterly review of cases filed against the bank.

- Empanelling competent and reputed Advocates on need base. To conduct review of empanel advocates. To ensure that best results are obtained with minimum expense.

- To check on the opinions provided by empanel advocates and to empanel advocate basis the flaw in services rendered by the empanel advocate.

- To take updates from the particular region branches and other internal customer with respect to litigation pending against and by the bank and maintain MIS of the same.

- To update seniors and management if asked to do so on all the cases pending in that particular region, by or against the bank. Timely provide MIS to corporate office about the cases disposed off and new one added.

- To provide training and support to internal customers to better understand the legal risks involved.
