Job Title: Specialist/Assistant Manager - Research

Location: Bangalore, India

Description:

This is a key position to manage ISG's research portfolio of service offerings targeted at Service Providers clients globally. Specialist/ Assistant Manager is expected to lead a small team or a set of small projects. Research Manager's focus broadly entails:

This could entail responsibility on managing 1 or more engagements focused on service providers that includes:

- Invitation Analysis: Why a SP has been/has not been invited to bids

- Pursuit Effectiveness: How effectively SP have performed on ISG advised bids across regions/verticals and recommendations

- Workshopss: Responsible for creating market landscape and supporting ISG SME's in delivering on workshops on specific verticals, specific service lines, global trends etc.

- Manage and participate in combination of custom research projects and provide research support to the consulting team in projects like reviewing GTM strategy of service provider and provide recommendations, reviewing their service offering and providing a competitive landscape around it, etc.

- Support ISG's research writing team in syndicated report creation.

- Provide support and guidance for requests related to market and competitive intelligence.

- Ability to analyze data and chart out the roadmap to introduce new service offerings and improve existing data assets and service offerings.

- Create collateral for ISG's proposals to prospective clients and other sales support & pre-sales activity.

- Manage internal stakeholder that includes senior executives globally and external clients as required.

- Provide guidance, training and mentoring to the team as required

- Depending on the project requirement should be able to switch from a team manager role to an individual contributor role.

- Participate and contribute to ISG thought leadership as required.

Qualification:

- The candidate should have Engineering and a MBA degree from a tier I institution with 6 to 8 years of relevant research experience.

- Flavor of outsourcing advisory/consulting/presales and bid management experience though not mandatory will be a plus.

Attributes / Skills sought:

- Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills

- Good knowledge of IT/BPO industry and understanding of outsourcing advisory business.

- Strong knowledge in an ITO/BPO Service line, key industry verticals and geographies with experience of Bid management. Candidate should bring understanding of key success factors for winning large deals, pricing constructs, Service Level Framework etc.

- Market and technology landscape understanding of IT products/services and platforms.

- Interest and aptitude for pursuing a career in research and consulting

- Experience of using research methodologies and familiarity with databases.

- Ability to work with ambiguity in an unstructured environment with ability to multi-task.

- High degree of enthusiasm and flexibility to stretch beyond regular office hours.

- Experience in producing both standard and bespoke research reports with good experience of both primary and secondary research techniques.

- Strong Power point and excel skills.

- Prior experience of managing teams and strong organizational skills for creating tracking/reporting processes.

- Prior experience of presales activities like proposal creation etc.
