Independent Checking Engineer (Thailand Metro)  We need a new Independent Checking Engineer (ICE) to work in Bangkok for the Purple line with the following qualifications.   Job Description:  - The scope requirement for the ICE is to assess, inspect, and certify the completion of all the integrated railway systems, readiness of operation and maintenance procedures and personnel, and operational safety prior to revenue service.  - The ICE will be required to sign the certificate in which PCPL recommends MRTA to accept the railway as safe for passenger service. The candidate has to accept that responsibility from the start and have the expertise to do it.  - This will require the ICE to review the Proof of Safety produced by BMCL and approved by PCPL M&E.  - The ICE will then have to identify the critical safety and operational information that he believes necessary to be reviewed from the contract submissions including but not limited to:  - All drawings and documents which are necessary for carrying out the works  - Design Specification, Construction Specifications, Performance Specifications, Design Criteria & Standards, Shop Drawings and/or As Constructed Drawings etc.  - All operational documents such as System Operation Plan, Rule Book, Operation Procedures Manual, etc.  - Any safety critical and safety related designs  - As we discussed yesterday, the qualifications are as follows:  - The ICE will need to be a very experienced railway engineer, familiar with all the systems and operations of the type of heavy rail metro system here. This is not mainline rail technology.  - He will need at least 30 years of relevant experience to be credible and effective in the role of ICE and to be acceptable to MRTA.  - He must be able to identify the work required and direct his assistants to achieve it.
