IFMR - Associate - Monitoring (3-5 yrs)

Job Summary:

The monitoring team member would work closely with the Head – Monitoring & Surveillance on conducting periodic monitoring of IFMR Capital’s partners. The position involves identifying gaps in operations, recommending solutions and following-up on the problems identified. The position requires extensive travel and on-the-field presence. Going forward, this would also extend to other clients in relevant asset classes such as affordable housing & small business loans.

Job Description:- JOB OBJECTIVE: (Summary of why the job exists, job's unique contribution to the organisation)

- Develop a deep understanding of emerging asset class by participating due diligences with origination team, participating credit committee meetings, research or any secondary study.

- Develop risk appraisal framework for emerging asset classes.

- Post-investment monitoring: Periodic monitoring of partner companies (MFIs and Non-MFIs), post investment in these entities and reporting on any warning signals or signs of deterioration in quality of operations.

- Identifying gaps: Visiting partners and working with their top management and operations team to identify weak areas and gaps in the operations of the partners. These weaknesses may be in corporate governance, quality of field operations, human resources, MIS, monitoring and control systems or financial health of the entity.

- Action plan: In case of weak areas identified, advise IFMR Capital’s Management on possible avenues to overcome the weak areas as recommendations.

- Follow-up: Periodic visits to the invested partners post identification of weak areas implementation, to assess if the identified weak areas/gaps have been acted upon.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Business, Economics or Development.

- At least 3 to 5 years total professional experience in Housing Finance Business/ SME Underwriting / Credit team of reputed Bank;

- Detail-oriented, good prioritisation skills, pro-active and, goal-oriented;

- Ability to provide clear, succinct and timely reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;

- Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word);
