We have an opportunity for a Solution Architect to partner with our clients in bringing this leading edge technology to the world.

The Watson Health Services Solution Architect is responsible for translating the client's business requirements to define the structures of Watson technology solutions and architectures. Solutions can include systems, applications, and process components for very large, complex or leading-edge Watson solutions. The Solution Architect understands client needs, works in levels of abstraction, applies industry knowledge, and leverages appropriate business elements and information technology to address those needs.This includes working with clients to identify functional and non functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. This is a client facing position that requires significant leadership experience in client negotiations, solution architecture and management of large scale complex solutions.

- The Solution Architect creates and documents the client specific solution architecture, client specific requirements, expectations, milestones and deliverables, and collaborates closely with the Lab Services Engagement Manager and the IBM client team to produce a corresponding Statement of Work for each client.

- The Solution Architect is responsible for communicating/driving the client architecture and Statement of Work requirements, milestones, expectations and deliverables through the services delivery execution team by directing the services Technical Team Lead and Project Manager appropriately.

- The Solution Architect will also be responsible for the formation of partnerships among customer, vendor and subcontractor organizations and the negotiation of lasting agreements regarding goals and approaches.

- Responsible for a wide range of design activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification.

- Position requires significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures and will include directing the design efforts of less experienced architects and the technical leadership driving the services implementation.

- Also, expected to have an extensive understanding of industry and technology trends, as well as of IBM strategy, and to apply that understanding to articulate a strategic vision which influences or guides business area, country or international strategic directions.

Required :

- Five years Solution Architecture experience in a client facing role

- Ten years software architecture experience

- Five years software development leadership experience

- Three years of complex solution delivery leadership experience

- Three years experience architecting healthcare solutions

- 60% travel

Preferred :

- Ten years experience architecting healthcare solutions

- Two years SaaS solution architecture

- Two years security architecture experience
