Group Entity : Global Banking and Markets  Role Title : Lead Quantitative Developer, FX Options and Precious Metals  Business/Function & Location (Country/Department) : Global Banking and Markets FO, Bangalore, Quantitative Analytics - Quants-FX Options  Role Purpose :  - Technical Team Lead for the Bangalore FXO Quant Dev team and main point of contact.  - Delegate, mentor and manage the work liaising with the manager in London.  - Support and development of tools for the Sigma pricing framework to meet the desk & team requirements  - Support and development of all infrastructure components  - Develop technical solutions for the desk as required  Principal Accountabilities : Key activities and decision making areas  Impact on the Business/Function   Technical Team lead for the Bangalore team and the go to person for any queries  Development and enhancing the features of Sigma to meet the requirements of the business.  Release and building of components needed for Sigma and IT  Development of systems/infrastructure   Customers / Stakeholders :  Resolving issues with users and the IT teams in using Sigma and the Quant libraries.  Leadership & Teamwork :  Leading the team in Bangalore and mentoring/monitoring their deliveries.  Assisting IT with any integration issues they may have with using our libraries.  Operational Effectiveness & Control :  Following the group procedures for Releases of the components needed for Sigma and the Quant libraries   Typical Targets and Measures :  - Manage the team ensuring development tasks are completed on time  - Quick completion of development tasks with little or no bugs  - Positive feedback from the desk  - Successful release of Sigma components to Users  - Successful integration of our libraries by IT  - Quick completion of development tasks with little or no bugs  - Positive feedback from the desk  - Positive feedback from the traders/IT  - Successful integration of our libraries by IT   - Positive feedback  - Quick Delivery Turnaround  - Quicker turnaround for IT   - Being able to roll back to a different version of the Sigma codebase  Major Challenges :  - Programming to a professional standard ensuring standard industry practices are followed.  - Rapid development and deployment of features/components in Sigma/Infrastructure. If any bugs are found they should be fixed as soon as possible  - Effective management of the team and ensure that delivery deadlines are met  Role Context :  Provide support functions for Sigma/Infrastructure including :  - Permissioning   - New spreadsheet/bug fixes   - Tool(s) to allow distribution of Sigma to users   - Bug fixes   - DMDS/Market Data issues   - Management of the FTP Servers used by Sigma globally   - Develop and maintain a testing framework for the Quant libraries   - Assist IT with integration issues   - Develop new components and enhance the Quant Library.   - Liaise with the DMDS team to create new DMDS classes and   Manage existing ones   Leverage other classes   Implement functionality to allow these classes to be loaded, saved and queried via the Sigma framework   - Assist in the release of Sigma and IT quant libraries  - Development of systems/architecture relevant to the needs of the desk/team.  Management of Risk :  - Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.  Observation of Internal Controls :  - Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.  - Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.  Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications :  - A degree based on Software Engineering or mathematical subject from a top tier university  - Experience working in the UK/US in a RAD development environment where quick turn around is a requirement for the job.  - Spreadsheet development experience (Excel and VBA)  - C++11 or above (using Visual Studio 2013 with at least 10 years experience), including use of stl algorithms for various tasks like (filtering, searching specifics, inserting, etc.. ), thread (parallel execution) libraries, synchronisation, pooling tasks, streams etc..  - Experience in multithreading/multiprocessing low latency development in a windows environment.  - Extensive boost library usage  - Windows socket, network programming protocols, TCP/IP, HTTP etc..  - Working knowledge and usage of middle ware (enterprise messaging system) products like Tibco Rendezvous, hazle cast, websphere   - Any use of third party messaging libs like google protobuf   - Working knowledge of subscription based messaging architecture  - Familiarity and experience of windows APIs, MS COM like STA/MTA etc   - Hands on and extensive usage of python, including threads, system calls, sockets xmls etc.
