Group Entity : Global Banking and Markets  Role Title : Analyst, FX - MI  Business/Function & Location : Global Banking and Markets Service Centres, Bangalore  Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role) :   Purpose of the role is to maximize the number of clients with a relationship with HSBC who have access to, and trade on FX's electronic platforms. They will need to focus on the four main areas of optimization to increase number of clients and then four main areas to increase usage of these platforms.  Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas  Impact on the Business :   In order to increase initial adoption of the platform the role will require:   - Identification and platform rollout to clients who are being serviced through voice channels, this will be done with the support of the client groups, sales teams and eCS  - Review of clients trading through ECN's and identification of opportunities to convert these clients to HSBC proprietary platforms  - Working with the client groups to identify clients who have a relationship with HSBC, but do not trade FX with us and providing an electronic solution  - Work with Marketing to attract new to bank clients in with the various different client segments  In order to increase usage of the platform the role will require:   - Look to optimise users on the platform through providing tactical information to sales regarding platform usage  - Work with Platform Development team to provide analytic tools based on internal and external data feeds to provide opportunities for sales teams  - Design and provide Alerts to sales teams that provide them with information in an automated way to assist them in growing relationships with their clients  - Development of predictive analytics that will provide triggers as to what we would expect our clients- needs to be in various market scenarios  Typical Targets and Measures :   - Understanding of FX markets and market principles  - Strong client facing, relationship and interpersonal skills  - Globally focused with outstanding and professional communication skills  - Manage strict timelines and proactively manage work priorities  Customers / Stakeholders :  - Key resources in Markets Management Office including the Global Head of FX eDistribution and associated resources  - Feedback from key Markets stakeholders   Leadership & Teamwork :   - Be part of a business team and cultivate spirit of enterprise and entrepreneurship   - Effective support within the team and ability to step up   Operational Effectiveness & Control :   - Lead the continuing development, implementation and improvement of the processes, structures, capabilities, capacity and infrastructure needed to deliver Management Office Business Management responsibilities  - Establish and maintain a robust and efficient control environment across the Markets Management Office. together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise  - Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels   - Proactively identify and mitigate control gaps  - Process improvement initiatives   Major Challenges (The challenges inherent in the role that require a continual test of the role holder's abilities) :   - First offshoring of Markets Front Office roles so strong support and guidance will be required for the business  - A rapidly changing regulatory environment with extensive impacts on the Markets businesses  - A high risk and sensitive set of functions potentially to be offshored so it is critical there is no negative business or client impact  - Increasing focus on business continuity delivery  - Availability of appropriate resources and conflicting priorities across the business  Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority) :   By the end of 2015 the GBM footprint across the GSCs will be over 7000 FTE across 7 centres and 6 countries. The Service Centres will be supporting all business lines within GBM including Markets, HSS and Banking. Within the GBM Service Centre responsibility is also some of the global functions support for the businesses including for example Wholesale and Traded Risk.   The Markets Front Office roles ned to be integrated in to the wider GBM Service Centre structure whilst ensuring appropriate segregation with an effective support structure both within Markets as well as the wider GBM and HOST structures.   Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)  Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing regulatory, economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology. Uses initiative and independent judgement on a daily basis to analyse, problem solve and proactively respond to sales, trader and client queries and requests from senior management. Must have ability to make risk controlled decisions in fast moving markets.  Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role  Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)  Demonstrates HSBC values and culture and adheres strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; reports control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.  Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.  Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.  Role Dimensions (e.g. balance sheet size, lending/expenditure limits, size/volume of transactions, budget)  - Exposure to key clients of the firm on a daily basis.  Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder.
