Role Purpose :  HSBC's Global Markets (GM) business is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It combines sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets. The services are offered through a network of 87 treasury sites in more than 60 countries and territories worldwide. The trading and sales forces attend to customers that include the world's central banks, international and local corporations, institutional investors, financial institutions and other market participants. GM specializes in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.  The Analyst will be part of the Governance and BAU team which is part of the Global Control Office, ensuring the adequacy and efficacy of the control environment.  The analyst's role will be to support the Controls office in embedding and operating a process governing user access to trading books globally.  The role holder will ensure the HSBC values are present in everything we do, both individually and as an organization. There are over 7000 FTE across 7 centers and 6 countries. There are Markets counterparties across more than 50 countries. The Service Centers will be supporting all business lines within GBM including Markets, HSS and Banking. Within the GBM Service Centre responsibility is also some of the global functions support for the businesses including for example Wholesale and Traded Risk.   The Markets Front Office roles are integrated in to the wider GBM Service Centre structure whilst ensuring appropriate segregation with an effective support structure both within Markets as well as the wider GBM and HOST structures.   Principal Accountabilities:  - Sourcing of all data required for the creation of the Book Access reports, while ensuring appropriate Quality Assurance takes place prior to consumption  - Support compilation of all reports and ensure timely delivery to regional/country representatives and other stakeholders  - Assist with access reviews where required and raise all relevant IT requests in support of review decisions taken by risk owners  - Monitor, track, maintain, and report on status of book access reviews once report delivery is achieved  - Ensure all queries from stakeholders are dealt with in a complete and timely fashion   - Analyze and report on any gaps or improvements required to make the Control process more effective  - Other specific tasks or projects related to Book Access Controls or other initiatives within the Controls Office as directed by management
