XYZ is looking for a Head of Human Resources to lead the Human Resources function and team in India and Sri Lanka. India Cluster comprises of India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan with inland coverage of 25 offices, 48 ICDs, 12 ICDs with CFSs and sea coverage with 14 ports. It is the largest cluster in the West & Central Asia region, with over 40% of the WCA business and one of the M15 countries and thus a high priority location for the XYZ Group as a whole.

The Cluster ranks as the fourth largest cluster of XYZ with revenue in 2014 expected to exceed USD 2 billion. XYZ and Safmarine agencies together staff approximately 400 employees with an excellent professional team and has been a regular source of talent for the group. Overall employees are energized, ambitious, competent and committed.

- As the Cluster Human Resources Manager, you will assume various key Human Resources roles. This includes Strategic Partner, Operations Manager, Emergency Responder, Employee Mediator and People Manager.

- You will also be an active member of the local management team and WCA Region Human Resources’ community.

- In addition, you will contribute to shaping the business strategy by offering insights and expertise in managing resources as well as deploying global Human Resources mandates in response to the local commercial strategy and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- As Strategic Partner you will formulate and execute local Human Resources strategy, identify talent issues and measure organisational performance key metrics.

- Bring the voice of the employee to the table by highlighting implications of strategic decisions.

- Building platforms to enhance effectiveness of leaders and in turn improve engagement levels.

- Steward the performance management process with leadership team to enhance cluster productivity, continuously drive concepts of differentiation.

- Talent Management - acquisition, development, retention of talent

- Challenge and probe business decisions from an HR perspective.

- Be a coach and partner to the cluster function managers on people and business decisions

- Effectively manage change and manage stakeholders, including employees and internal project management teams.

- Manage organisational audits and collect data for analytics and workforce planning.

- As HRBP Operations Manager you will feel and understand the pulse of the organisation, translate organisational culture to decisions, manage and communicate policies and procedures, ensure Human Resources programs are aligned with cultural and global guidelines and implement and operate the annual HR calendar.

- Ensure compliance of Human Resources processes to local statutaory and labour laws.

- As HRBP Emergency Responder you will effectively respond to line needs and questions from employees, leaders and management.

- As HRBP Employee Mediator you will manage competing personalities, in managing conflicts and respond to demands caused by organisational changes.

- As People Manager you will develop and groom Human Resource professionals, set objectives, ensure a clear and consistent performance driven culture and attract and select high performers.

Education and Experience:

- MBA or Master’s education is preferred.

- Minimum 10 years’ Human Resources experience in multinational companies.

- Knowledge and experience in recruitment, compensation, organisational planning, organisation development, employee relations and training and development.

- Track record and capabilities to coach leaders on the HR impact to the business.

- An excellent coach with strong influencing, interpersonal and communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant in the management team.

- Organizational and Time Management skills.

- Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.

- Should have led large scale change management initiatives or managed tough business transitions.

- Is well versed with the functional aspect of managing workforce in India, including retrenchments, business expansion etc.

- Experience in SAP HR modules is a plus.

- Fluent in both written and spoken English
