Procurement Program Manager : Supply Chain Analytics - Procurement Risk Management

Job Description :

- The candidate would lead strategy formulation and execution for assigned set of multi-million dollar spend commodities, for one or more country operations.

- The role would have both strategic and operational procurement aspects to it.

- Work includes but is not limited to finding and executing cost reduction opportunities, maintaining procured part lists, Make vs. Buy analysis and execution, assuring supply at all times, supporting all product lifecycle stages, managing risks, managing supplier performance and relationships, and managing stakeholder expectations.

- The incumbent would report to the Procurement Risk Management Practice Lead manager, and would work independently with limited guidance and supervision.

- The incumbent would work with assigned commodity suppliers, the ODM, the MPas (manufacturing partners), Partner Management team, commodity Engineering group, and global peers.

- The individual would interact with leadership, including country Procurement Director for strategy validation.

- The incumbent would serve as Procurement expert within the group and is expected to influence to the supply marketplace reasonably.

- He/she would be a skilled negotiator capable of reaching favorable outcomes for the organization, while ensuring fairness and integrity.

- He/she would serve as mentor for junior peers and would help roll out best procurement practices to the group and beyond. In addition to assigned commodity management, he/she may support strategic initiatives for the group and business units.

- The incumbent would possess high self-drive and motivation, superior oral and written communication skills, good presentation and analytical skills, and general project management and people management skills.

- He/she is expected to have good business acumen and help manage both the - big picture- and tiny details.

Key Responsibilities :

- Leads complex procurement commodities, used across several products and business groups.

- Develops, validates with leadership, and implements commodity strategy. Develops strategies for cost reduction, risk mitigation, business continuity, and operations improvement.

- Leads complex supplier selection activities. Drives supply base optimization.

- Negotiates acceptable contracting outcomes on total cost of ownership (TCO) basis. Decision-making implications extend to multiple functions and/or businesses, and impact the business directly.

- Ensures right balance between cost and other trade-offs (INCO- terms, payment terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, responsiveness, risk diversification, etc.) keeping organization's best interest in mind.

- Responsible for day-to-day operations of suppliers, and coordination with ODMs (original design manufacturers) and MPas (manufacturing partners). Supports NPIs and end-of-life ramp-down. Maintain master list of procured parts, and captures standardization and volume-pooling opportunities.

- Innovates complex business models, drives associated strategies and influences the marketplace.

- Networks with global counterparts to leverage organization's combined spend, and best practices. Set and manage partner expectations.

- Conduct occasional knowledge sharing sessions with team members. Skill-development and mentoring of the junior team members

Qualifications :

- Typically 7+ years of commodity management of which at least 2 would be for board-loadable components (BLCs) or other electronic components.

- Masters in business administration/ management/ supply chain function from Tier 1 education institutes (IIMs, SP Jain, NMIMS, NITIE, and other top tier management study institutes) desired.

- Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics/ Electronics and Telecommunications (EXTC) is preferred.

- Professional certification in areas of procurement (ISM C.P.M., ISM CPSM) will be added advantage.

Knowledge & Skill sets :

- Cost deflation, spend management and supplier account management.

- Development and implementation of product/process cost models.

- Experience with various cost-down levers like Value Engineering, standardization, spend consolidation

- Experience working with BLC (board-loadable component) suppliers in Asia. PC/Print/ Mobility commodity experience is desirable.

- Superior negotiation skills, especially in context of negotiating without face-to-face meetings.

- Independent and self-motivated; able to deliver on tight timelines. Works with little guidance.

- Experience working with MRPs and BOMs.

- Superior MS Excel and data analysis skills, database management tools, business decision modeling (Desirable).

- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills (Must).

- Advanced verbal and written communication, presentation, and persuasion skills; mastery in English(Must).

- Excellent business acumen, technical knowledge for assigned commodity and products that use it, knowledge and know-how of commodity specifications, technology, manufacturing process, business models and emerging trends.

- Ability to independently draft and present deliverable, recommendations, and strategies. Ability to make an immediate impact.

Impact/ Scope :

- Influences particular supply commodities used across multiple business units, for one or more country operations.

- Typically interacts with individuals at managerial and Director levels.

Process :

- Suitable candidates will go through 4-5 rounds of selection process including solving a business case study and face to face discussion.

- Its pure commodity management and negotiation role hence BPO Candidates Need not Apply
