Head of Traffic and New Customer Acquisition

We are looking for customer obsessed, data driven entrepreneurs to join our growing team. Solve some of the hardest problems for our customers. Amazon video's marketing team is seeking an exceptional marketing manager to design, implement and manage performance display advertising campaigns and search initiatives. This is an opportunity for you to spearhead performance display advertising initiatives for Amazon video and help in scaling up this channel. You will understand both the art and science of a portfolio of performance marketing channels like display, video, search and social advertising, and have proven success in driving results, ideally in B2C customer acquisition, lead generation, subscriber conversion and/or revenue generation. You will be comfortable working with complex challenges, and understand the value of rapid test and learn approaches. You will be savvy about how to leverage large data sets to create sophisticated advertising programs leveraging the latest technologies such as advanced behavioral targeting, ad retargeting, real-time bidding (RTB), demand side platforms (DSP), and dynamically generated creative.

The successful candidate will be data-driven with a proven track record of driving growth. He/She will design and execute traffic channel strategies, search and programs to acquire new customers supported by a talented group of marketing managers jointly responsible for execution.

The overall traffic and customer acquisition team is responsible for acquiring quality traffic (internally from amazon.in and externally), converting traffic to customers and driving action. Additionally, the team will focus on unblocking marketing initiatives that prevent increased customer conversion within these pipelines as well as developing a strong pipeline of customers interested in streaming video. This team will also work closely with the other Amazon India teams like retail, marketplace, Kindle, etc.

The role's responsibilities include:

- Lead and manage Amazon Video's paid display, video and search campaigns for our IN video businesses.

- Drive the implementation of new scalable, cost-efficient campaigns and maximize ROI.

- Manage a continuous, meticulously planned and documented testing plan which delivers consistent channel growth and performance improvements against key metrics.

- Proactively share and learn best practices from other Amazon display and search teams in India and across the world.

- Manage internal, agency and other external relationships to run campaigns across a wide array of networks and mediums, reaching maximum current and potential Amazon customers.

- Stay abreast of new tools, trends, and best practices in Display advertising and search; evangelize them throughout Amazon IN.

- Develop strong internal relationships with our product management and technical organizations to drive customer experience and marketing improvements in our mobile applications.

- Communicate regularly with senior leadership, internal stakeholders and traffic team colleagues to understand objectives and opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

- Demonstrate ability to work at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (managing advertising campaign execution, creating and optimizing campaigns, analyzing traffic data and solving problems).

- Proven experience in traffic generation, managing online advertising and search on behalf of an internet business. 5+ years of direct marketing work experience.

- Deep knowledge of Indian Internet industry.

- Deep knowledge of the display advertising eco-system including hands-on experience with GDN, programmatic buying, social media, re-targeting and search.

- Must be highly analytical, with a sound grasp of performance optimization strategies. Must be very commercially aware, having owned marketing budgets and revenue goals of significant scale.

- Experience of building and managing people/skills to effectively direct team's efforts toward goals. 2+ years of team management experience

- Passion for metrics and quantitative analysis, and ability to turn analysis into actionable programs. Be able to bridge data analysis, research, competitive intelligence and marketing savvy to build efficient and scalable customer acquisition programs.

- Strong drive for execution and delivering results. An ambitious self-starter with excellent follow-through skills to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial. Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done and thinking big at the same time.

- Relentless customer focus and obsession

- Master's degree in marketing or business. Bachelor's degree with relevant experience will also be considered.

- To be successful in this role you will need to be a great leader, innovator, and an analytical problem solver. You will need to think and act fast.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the Media Industry preferred.

- Experience in leading traffic/acquisitions for a subscription/opt-in service is preferred.

- Knowledge of digital video landscape, including solid understanding of digital video

- Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
