Head - Technology Research

Key Requirement: Must have done Business Research / Consulting on broad technology disruption, including but not limited to - Cloud, Big Data, IoT, Software Design, Cognitive Computing, Mobility etc.

Job Description -

1. Setting up the research team, research process and methodologies from scratch

2. Lead a team of associates and effectively manage multiple projects - oversee end to end project management - Project Plan, Timeliness & Quality of Projects

3. Oversee recruitment, training of new recruits, develop the practice in line with the Business needs

4. Deliver research analysis in Research industry with technology as a sector, across horizontal and vertical application services.

5. High comprehension of analyst research and ability to digest research requests received quickly, scope the research, estimate the effort involved and map out a plan to conduct the desk research.

6. Conduct research using both systematic and intuitive secondary research techniques

7. Analyze the research findings and draw inferences and conclusions in response to the research query

8. Demonstrate complete ownership of the tasks/projects assigned

9. Present the findings logically as well as formulate hypotheses

10. Apply relevant domain knowledge and provide original analysis.

11. Guide team members on the markets, vendors, and

12. Collaborate with various internal stakeholders and identify opportunities where the team can further support.

13. Provide constructive feedback to team members

14. Continuously seek feedback from internal stakeholders to further improve on deliverables

15. Manage resource allocation - utilizing existing skills and competencies for project requests as they come in.

16. Demonstrate complete ownership of the tasks/projects assigned

17. Team knowledge and skills development - continuously update knowledge base in areas relevant to business through continuous trainings/knowledge sharing session

18. Leadership: New insights generation; how to reduce turnaround time; individuals; create a talent pool that can deliver quick and urgent projects

Required Skills

1. Graduate + MBA (Marketing or Ops) from a leading B-school

2. 8 years of minimum experience in Research industry with technology as a sector, across horizontal and vertical application services.

3. Updated on broad technology disruption, including but not limited to - Cloud, Big Data, IoT, Software Design, Cognitive Computing, Mobility etc.

4. Experience in an extremely fast paced work environment preferably in research, consulting or marketing/strategy

5. Ability to develop creative and apply ingenuity to conduct secondary research for challenging requests

6. Identify probable patterns to derive meaningful information.

7. Some ability to give independent opinions based on facts

8. Experience in an extremely fast paced work environment preferably in research, consulting or marketing/strategy
