Head - Regulatory Affairs - TRAI (10-15 yrs)

Remarks : Candidates with experience from both law firms and in house roles are preferred.
Major Responsibilities :
- Interface and liaise with officials from the TRAI, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and other ministries on day to day basis
- Analysis of various regulations and advise business stakeholders; this includes clear, concise interpretation of relevant regulations and providing practical, workable solutions to various business stakeholders which also safeguard the company
- Analysis and advice on FDI policies and impact on the broadcasting, media and telecom business
- Prepare, coordinate, manage, maintain simple and complex regulatory submissions in accordance with business applicable regulations and follow up on the same; this includes representations, communication, consultation paper responses, security clearances submissions, new director approvals, equipment approvals/renewals etc.
- Keeping up to date with the changes in the regulatory landscape and alerting business of possible changes which may impact the business
- Tracking and evaluating, India and global media and broadcasting industry developments along with analysis of possible future impact on business
- Ensuring that the business is in line with regulations and providing advice on company policies, practices and systems; this includes review of the installation work orders, work orders, website, promotional literature and any other consumer facing material
- Review, analysis and advice on packaging declarations from a Legal Metrology perspective and interface with authorities for compounding any violations while ensuring minimum exposure to directors and company
- Day to day handling of consumer grievances forwarded by TRAI and MIB; this will include providing advice to the Consumer Operations/Marketing/Service teams on how to resolve matters while keeping the Quality of Service regulations in mind; this also includes fast turnaround from a response review and finalization perspective
- Reviewing agreements, documents, regulatory litigation strategy and advising the litigation and transactions vertical from a regulatory perspective
- Act as liaison between Regulatory Affairs and other functional areas; represent Regulatory Affairs in cross-functional team meetings
- Collate, review and submit Regulatory compliances
