Position: Head of R&D : Chemical

Our Client is experiencing significant growth in all Region. This has opened up an exciting opportunity. The position will be based in Bangalore, and responsible for Lead the global innovation process & programme and group Research & Development activities and facilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountabilities:

- As manager of the central group of a company, ensure that adequate facilities and capabilities are available to meet current and future product development and technical support needs

- Ensure that the new product development portfolio is adequate to achieve company targets for growth including Vitality Index

- Develop and implement plans, including capital expenditure, recruitment and training & development to assure capability of the company stays aligned with company growth targets

- Organise and allocate resources and equipment in the company to best support technical priorities

- Ensure resources and capabilities available for data management and other associated activities, processes and responsibilities of the company

- Work with all key stakeholders to deploy the Innovation Process effectively and efficiently throughout the company

- Manage, motivate and develop staff to ensure efficient output

- Identify equipment needs and modifications required to provide the required capability of development and technical support activities

- Maintain an up to date awareness of developments in the literature and industry and contribute to public technical debate where the enhancement of Company image is most benefited e.g. via papers and presentations in trade media and participation at professional gatherings

Functional / Technical Competencies Required:

- As Innovation process owner, manage the timely, efficient and responsive execution of development activities including ensuring that projects proceed according to agreed plans with the full engagement of all stakeholders

- Develop relationships with key material suppliers, universities, professional and trade institutes and other relevant external bodies to ensure engagement with potential new technologies and market trends.

- Maintain the laboratory at an appropriate operating standard via regular internal audits

- Ensure work carried out within company is to ISO quality procedures and in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

Knowledge/experience/skills/personal attributes:

- Advanced Technical degree in a relevant area

- 5+ years leadership experience in a multinational R&D facility

- Excellent teamwork and people management capability

- Project management, planning and leadership experience

- Innovative problem solving capability and aptitude

Experience: 12 years - 16 years

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech-chemical, MSc, Ph.D

- You like people management and know how to coach, drive, allocate resources, innovate and inspire a team.

- You are known for your excellent communication and influencing skills and operate effectively within a network based matrix environment and you are versed in project management.

- You thrive on challenges and enjoy working proactively Team consisting of already highly technically competent colleagues.
