Job Purpose
To play an integral role in realizing PROJECT’s Technology vision by providing overall direction & oversight to the Program Management Unit (PMU) to ensure creation of the designed Technology Solution within the defined standards of cost, quality and time. The Program Management Unit is a body comprised of highly skilled technical professionals formed to manage the creation of the technology based applications and solutions for PROJECT.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Project Management & Monitoring
- Provide inputs for preparation of detailed schedules & milestones for implementation of various project tracks and oversee monitoring of individual project schedules to ensure compliance to the planned timelines
- Create an integrated plan/ schedule for review of progress of the Vendors/ Consultants, create reporting and escalation mechanisms for the same
- Oversee the creation, testing and commissioning of the Technology Solution as per the Applications & Technology Architecture blueprint created by the Chief Architect Team
- Oversee the development of the entire IT Infrastructure (including Network, Storage, Security and Building of the DC/DR Facility) for PROJECT based on the Architecture Blueprint
- Monitor the functioning of all System Integrators from various Vendor/Consulting organizations responsible for different projects tracks in the organization
- Undertake resource planning to ensure adequate staffing, movement & knowledge sharing across the Build and Operate Phase of the PROJECT’s in-house tool application development
- Monitor and review the budget utilization for various projects on an ongoing basis, seek for additional budget, if required
Knowledge Transfer & Technical Guidance
- Oversee complete knowledge transfer from various Consultants/SIs to the PROJECT Team
- Oversee resolution of technical issues/ queries of the SIs by his/ her team of experts; Oversee coordination with the Chief Architect Team on matters related to Architectural Governance
- Provide technical guidance to the O&M team for upkeep & maintenance of all the Technology Solutions developed
Vendor Sourcing
- Provide inputs for bid-process management for selection of vendors for designing and implementation of products & services for various projects
- Provide inputs for designing of RFPs, evaluation of vendors, participation in the commercial negotiations etc
- Monitor and provide inputs on the performance evaluation of Vendors/ Consultants.
