Overview

- The Head product delivery unit will be responsible for leading this new unit. The HEAD OF Product Delivery Unitwill be a highly-performing development group focused on complex, demanding and highly agile product delivery for some of the most prestigious customers. Operating within a different model, more usual application development, maintenance and support activities, the Head of Product Delivery Unit will have at its disposal the highest-calibre resources, leading technical infrastructure, R&D capabilities and organisational processes and support to meet its very specific needs.

- The emphasis on the Head of Product Delivery Unit is one of highly-paced, high-quality deliverables, using resources that have a “meeting of minds” with the best in the business. Teams may be deployed quickly to consult with customers, define solutions and build products.

- Though technology agnostic, the Head of Product Delivery Unit is likely to have knowledge of current Java technologies and how they operate.

- Additional experience with technical & operational infrastructure will be important, including networking infrastructure, security systems, SaaS operating models, etc. An understanding of operations management (ITIL) will also be part of the experience.

- First and foremost, this is a role that requires an energetic leader, excellent in communication and experienced with working closely with global customers to define and deliver challenging solutions.

Key tasks

- Leadership of the Product Development Unit

- Technical mentoring & guidance to architects and senior team leaders

- Management of overall unit assets, projects, infrastructure, PMO, etc.

- Liaising within on-site engagement teams and with customer teams

- Resource planning to ensure appropriate staffing skills and scale for project pipeline
