Organization: A Client Of Ours  Job Title: Head - Partnerships  Reports To: Chief Executive Officer  Location: New Delhi  Introduction:   The organisation works to secure the future of clean energy in the country by aiding the design and implementation of policies that encourage the efficient use of existing resources as well as the development of renewable energy. The concentration is on enabling policies in four specific areas with greatest clean energy potential: renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable transport and climate policy. Thanks to its niche positioning, they maintain a small but tight outfit comprising of energy and policy experts.  Reason for hire:   A client of ours is seeking to hire a dynamic and results driven individual as Head- Partnerships to drive their fundraising and partnership activities in India . This role is a replacement position since the current incumbent has transitioned out of the organization for further studies abroad.   - This position will develop and manage partnerships and be responsible for fine tuning the fundraising strategy in accordance to the prevailing external donor environment.   - S/he will manage related activities including identifying, networking, and engaging with external groups/individuals with the aim of increasing awareness of the organisation's work and to raise funds for them.  Responsibilities & Results:  Fundraising strategy:  - Assist the CEO to develop a comprehensive strategy for Partnership and Fundraising;  - Formulate and communicate accurate funding projections in collaboration with finance;  - Articulate how programmes can be linked together for funding purposes;   - Engage with the Board to communicate fundraising strategy and efforts.   - Outreach and Partnership Building  - Conduct market scan and identify potential partners and funders;   - Interact with partners and organizations such as, high net worth individuals, foundations, bilateral, multilaterals, corporations in order to build the organisation's brand; in conjunction with programme teams;   - Collaborate with programme teams to develop and present their value-add, including future organization strategy and current programme highlights, summaries;  - Work with other organizations in the network for possible collaboration.  Funder Management:  - Initiate and engage with funders to understand their priorities and present their capabilities;  - Maintain and build relationship with established contacts to increase the base of support;  - Facilitate sponsoring for events to enhance organization visibility for current and potential partners;  - Coordinate and ensure interaction between programmes and funders at events (seminars, workshops, etc.);  - Track and comply with reporting needs on grants.  Review and Evaluation:  - Conduct due diligence checks of funders prior to submission of proposals;  - Manage follow-up on proposal submissions;  - Collaborate with Programme Leads to align funder proposals to organization strategy;  - Develop updates and evaluation reports for funders in collaboration with programmatic inputs from the Programme Leads;  - Contribute in development of Process Manual describing the project objectives in line with the organization strategy.  Proposals:  - Work with Chief of Programs and the Program team to prepare and submit high quality proposals;  - Review proposals for content, quality and comprehensiveness and provide feedback to Program team as necessary.  Essential Experience and Skills:  - An advanced degree, MBA / PGDM, in Sales or Marketing from a reputed University / Institute  - 10 - 12 years of experience in Marketing / Sales / Relationship Management of which 4 - 5 years experience at senior level.  - Strategic thinking and results driven individual with strong business acumen. Demonstrated track record of achieving business targets and sustaining a healthy bottom line. Proven facilitation, mediation and negotiation skills. External leadership and networking skills  - Ability to represent the organisation and its international partners in professional forums at the highest level. Enjoy building positive relationships with a wide range of individuals.  - Drive, commitment and ownership  - Strong desire to make a difference by working in the not-for-profit sector  Highly Desirable:  - Knowledge of climate change or related issue areas  - Experience working in a foundation or a non-profit organisation with a significant portion of this experience in organizing and directing major fundraising programs will be an added advantage   - Basic knowledge of policy making, grantmaking / non profit work environment in India  - Experience working with government and business leaders in India.  Travel: 20% - 25%  Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
