Head – Operations  We have been retained by our client, a well established, professionally managed foreign bank to identify a Head Operations. The position will be based at Mumbai.   Job Purpose:  The job will have a responsibility to manage:  a.	Treasury operations   b.	Credit operations  c.	Compliance  Responsibilities:  Treasury operations & Compliance:  - To provide support function to Treasury Business for Back office Activities. An end-to-end understanding of the various treasury business lines with a core focus on back office function (i.e. processing, settlements, accounting, reconciliation and documentation).   - To have in-depth product knowledge.   - To have sound regulatory knowledge to ensure compliance.   - To control back office function for all products on Derivatives Section.   - Timely reporting processing of deals and to carry out error free settlements of transactions.   - Reporting of transactions to CCIL within specified time lines.   - To validate and track receipt of documents like Underlying, Past Performance Documents, various declarations, signed Term Sheet and Confirmations.   - To do strict follow-up for the pending documents and escalate the pending items to Senior Management.   - To carry out reconciliation of Trades & position between Front Office and Back office System. MTM FX deals as per FEDAI rules.   - Reconciliation of Ledger accounts to ensure correct entries posted by the system.  - To ensure timely submission of all RBI returns for Derivative section.   - To handle Past Performance limit tracking independently.  Credit Operations & Compliance:  - To serve as the main point of contact for Compliance and Audit (both internal and statutory).   - Interpretation and accordingly ensuring adherence to Regulatory and bank’s internal guidelines relating to credit and operations.  - To be involved at the time of structuring of transactions with the sole objective of ensuring compliance to RBI / internal guidelines.  - To review credit proposals to ensure that transactions proposed are in conformity with RBI / internal guidelines and suggest solutions.  - Coordinating with RBI for audit related MIS, clarifications, query resolution etc.   - Updating of bank’s India’s Credit / Investment Policy.  - Preparation of Memos for Manco approvals (relating to SBL, credit policy changes etc.)  - Preparation / coordination of Long Form Audit Reports (LFARs).  - Follow-up for receipt of Stock Statements, Inspection Reports, Insurance Reports and ensure adequacy of DP – alert management on discrepancies.  - Follow-up for receipt of Covenant Compliance certificates/ updation of CM tool.  - Coordinating with companies for obtaining “Declaration from Borrowers” in terms of RBI requirements for Multiple Banking Arrangements.  - Coordination with Branch Operations, COPS, CRC etc. (including KYC)   - Coordinating with companies / other banks in the Consortium for obtaining “Exchange of Information” in terms of RBI requirements for Consortium / Multiple Banking Arrangements.  - To ensure mechanism of interest charging / advice of interest rates to clients etc. are in conformity with the procedures stipulated by RBI (ie. interest reset procedures, benchmarking with Base Rate, PLR etc).   KEY ATTRIBUTES  - Strong analytical skills.  - A disciplined approach to Planning, Execution and Tracking of issues to resolution.  - Strong team player, able to work collaboratively with colleagues.   - Excellent communication skills for documenting and explaining findings.  - Strong influencing skills for obtaining buy-in to resolve findings.   - Drive and enthusiasm.  - A positive, “can do” attitude.  Ideal candidates must have 8 to 12 years relevant experience as above and must be qualified Chartered Accountants or MBAs from premium business schools.
