Head - Online Business - Education - IIM (2-5 yrs)

The Company:

Having trained more than 100,000 students to date, this is one of the leading skills training companies in the country. The company has received recognition as India's best vocational training company from several industry bodies.

The company has also raised a round of venture capital funding from a leading VC investor, and secured funding from India's leading education finance agency (overall USD $10M+).

The Context and The Role:

- The company has grown in the skills training space largely using an offline business model. Having acquired a cloud-based assessment and delivery platform, the company is now building out an online model and intends to become the first mover and leader in its category.

- The Head of Online Business will serve as a key leader of this initiative (CEO equivalent, reporting to the board of the online subsidiary).

Primary Responsibilities:

- Complete ownership of the online business division, including building and managing a top team. This division will be treated as an startup with full independent decision-making powers and P&L responsibility

- Drive relationships with technology partners to build and integrate new generation training and assessment
solutions over the internet

- Build B2B relationships with test prep institutes, universities and corproates to drive engagement on the technology platform

- Play lead role in managing integration of various proprietary and third party courses into the online delivery model

- Lead all online marketing initiatives for the business

- Drive a data-based approach to decision making

Qualifications and Skills:

- MBA (IIM preferred)

- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a post-MBA role

- Willing to relocate to Chennai

- Background in online education/e-commerce/start-up preferred

- Demonstrated understanding of various facets of B2B sales, online marketing and running an online business

- Experience in liaising with technology teams

- Comfort with a changing technology landscape

Compensation:

Attractive compensation structure for the right candidate including an annual salary package in excess of INR 25 lakhs and ESOPs.
