Purpose of the job :  To manage the end-to-end responsibility for a category, i.e. creation and execution of products in a category / brand portfolio in order to service the target customer groups and achieve the category deliverables in terms of sales, gross margins and inventory control   Role & Responsibilities :  - Garners customer and market insights to define the range of products and price points for a category; updates this periodically based on changing trends and forecasts; Uses this knowledge to set the business targets including margin and inventory turn ratio for the category in consultation with the Head Business Unit.  - Guides the buyers / product managers on providing the design brief and eventually finalizing the range plan based on season forecasts, feedback from previous season's / year's sell-through analysis, etc.   - Ensures that a winning collection in terms of product mix and quantity is chosen and made within target costs; monitors the retail mathematics to determine open-to-buy limits, costs and pricing to achieve the gross margin for the category, balancing between brands within the category  - Conducts weekly reviews against Business Plan and initiates any in-season planning, corrective action and liquidation of stock to be done; consolidates inputs from retail manager and reports to CEO as required.  - Be responsible for achieving budgeted sales and gross margin numbers   - Concept/Channel-wise selling and planning strategy with in- Coordination with Domestic/ International teams and reporting of the category depth analysis of sales to help in effective buying  - Control inventory levels throughout the year thus ensuring less than budgeted write downs.  - Ensuring pre order mechanism process to reduce inventory risk  - Coordinate with Sales and Retail teams and support functions, Sales achievement, Sell out and sell through, Inventory Planning and Management, Market penetration, Business development, Customer Interaction and sell in, Budget planning and control and Reporting  Person Profile :  Desired Qualification : MBA or equivalent qualification / NIFT / FDDI background with relevant experience  Desired Experience Profile : 7+ years in relevant brands with relevant experience in the Sportswear & footwear space
