Position :

- The purpose of this role is to develop and execute multi-channel corporate & brand marketing and promotional programs that support brand growth.

- This position is responsible for increasing target consumer awareness of the Brand, as well as increasing market share by launching effective marketing programmes.

Role Summary:

- Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the Organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal.

- Oversee development and implementation of support materials and services in the area of marketing, communications and public relations.

- Directs the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization.

- Manages brand and direct activities to protect and promote its value.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Marketing:

- Responsible for the marketing of company products to the right market whether B2B or B2C

- Provide the planning and leadership to the Marketing Department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the goals of the Marketing plan.

- Assume overall responsibility for developing the annual marketing plan for the organisation; for strategic market planning; market research programmes; field force activities, and control of the marketing budget.

- Prepare new product marketing plans for product introductions in cooperation with Product Managers.

- Develop and direct measurable multi-channel, cross-channel, channel-specific, product, promotional, and cause-related marketing programs that tie back to brand strategy and business goals.

- Employ a variety of communications tools: print advertising, public relations, visual merchandising, direct marketing, strategic partnerships, events marketing, on-line, viral marketing, cause-related, local/community initiatives.

- Ensure product relevance to timing, Big Ideas and Merchandising Point-of-view.

- Facilitate integration of marketing, merchandising, product development and other departments as appropriate, to fully develop Big Ideas.

- Develop and implement Customer Programmes/schemes.

- Initiate and maintain program analysis reporting for all brand marketing initiatives.

- Establish a system of reports and communications for all information from the marketing team to the sales team and for feedback and request from the sales team to the marketing team.

- Develop ongoing liaison with key opinion leaders, to ensure that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored.

- Organise and direct marketing meetings on a regular basis whereby the strategy and promotion programmes are reviewed.

- Assist the Management in establishing pricing policies for products based on competitor analysis.

- Works with agencies in the creative development process and execution of all national, and local advertising campaigns, including television, radio, print, outdoor, trade and alternative media.

- Responsible for performance appraisal of marketing managers and for providing training and development opportunities.

- Develop a strong integrated marketing team. Ensure best practices in the development of marketing programs including the writing and sharing of strong creative briefs that will result in creative communications that are on strategy, on brand, and on deadline.

- Report on marketing activities to senior management colleagues.

Brand Management:

- Act as an authority and promoter of the Brand, ensuring consistent brand expression through all consumer and cultural touch points, both external and internal.

- Lead the creative development of quarterly brand themes that convey the brand point-of-view.

- Creating a brand plan and brand strategy and ensuring all aspects of the product or companies marketing and activities align with the ethos and goals of the brand.

- Creating an enduring brand message that results in increased sales, brand loyalty and improving market share.

- To develop brand strategy, consumer segmentation, targeting and positioning of brand and in the development of the brand architecture. Ensures appropriate qualitative and quantitative research is conducted to ensure overall brand success.

Job Specifications:

Basic Qualification:

- Degree in Marketing Management OR Communication from an institution of repute.

Experience:

- Approximately 14- 22 years of experience in the marketing department of a related sector.

- Extensive experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing strategies to meet company objectives.

- A strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

- A proven ability to oversee all branding, marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities.

Requirements:

- Demonstrated knowledge of strategy development, market analysis, project management, new product development as well as packaging, promotions, and pricing.

- Can contribute diverse thinking to the Department.

- A passion for creating innovative marketing strategies and a drive for excellence.

- Ability to think strategically by identifying and analyzing consumer and market insights and translating these into effective strategies.

- Well-developed communication skills - Possess Strong writing, presentation, and influencing communication skills.

- Well-developed financial and quantitative analysis skills are essential.

- Advertising experience with TV and secondary media.

- Budget and project management.

- Analytical skills, extensive experience with data delivery systems.

- Experience working with senor leadership on complex problems.

- High attention to detail in fast paced environment with excellent sense of prioritization and time management.

- Strategically oriented and highly organised with a professional demeanor.
