- We are seeking an individual with proven capabilities in a procurement environment with emphasis on procurement of freight, transportation, warehousing, or other related logistics services. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate abilities in the following:

JOB PURPOSE/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the development, management and implementation of comprehensive strategies in alignment and Procurement to deliver agreed savings targets and other benefits that significantly impact financial results.

- Lead, develop and manage the supply base for external supply chain providing supply of high quality and competitively priced logistics services, to meet requirements.

- Responsible for procurement of logistics services in the Indian region.

- Develop supply strategies that deliver business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, regulatory, service, cost and innovation.

- Lead strategic relationships with critical suppliers providing secure and cost effective logistics services

- Lead cross functional sourcing group management teams with joint accountability for technical and quality performance

- Implement initiatives and programs to improve quality of logistics services

- Ensure security of supply and risk management.

- Develop operational excellence strategy for supply base employing lean and sigma approach

- Deliver excellence in customer service.

- Ensure regulatory compliance.

- Provide best in class cost

- Coach and mentor to maximise team and individual performance

- Represent the category on relevant strategy development and supply chain planning forums

- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; agree RACIs and business requirements

- Sharing of best practice across category team and Procurement Shared Service

- Continuous improvement of process and performance within category team and related supply base

ACCOUNTABILITY:

- Work across multiple project teams to implement sourcing projects which deliver robust Sourcing Strategies to support an Indian annual logistics services spend of greater than 25 Million GBP.

- Create, establish and maintain optimum supplier relationships to meet business targets.

- Protect revenue streams by managing supply security through robust risk management process.

- Achieve lowest sustainable cost on goods and services.

- Ensure supplier contracts provide protection for intellectual property as well as developing new intellectual property.

- Ensure supplier compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements.

- Responsible for major supply base issue resolution e.g. recalls, sudden cessation of supply

- Responsible for resolving major legal disputes e.g. compensation claims, IP infringement

COMPLEXITY:

- Lead and manage the logistics category and purchasing activities and providing a shared service to multiple supply divisions across the Indian region.

- Any interruption of supply results in immediate and extended impact on revenue stream.

- Managing regional supply base requires forward market evaluation >5 years.

- Supplier relationships reflect product demand uncertainty and industry change.

- Necessary to build strategic alliances with key suppliers including regular business reviews with senior management to ensure requirements are met.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

Basic Requirements:

- Strong experience of relevant freight, transportation, warehousing, or other related logistics services procurement experience.

- Deep knowledge of the Indian logistics supply market.

- Close business relationships forged with the logistics supplier network.

- Involving people in issues that affect them. Facilitating dialogue between team members so they understand the links between their different ideas and perspectives. Bringing team members into the discussion so they can contribute their ideas.

- Forming win-win partnerships with others. Showing how a plan or strategy can be mutually advantageous in order to gain cooperation. Overcoming objections and progressing business objectives.

- Seeking to raise levels of performance by establishing an improvement process, or setting specific, measurable targets and goals linked to business needs.

- Taking an initiative (a clearly interconnected set of activities) designed to raise the ‘value added’ to customers. These activities will have a wider or longer-term effect than a specific action designed to address a particular customer issue or problem

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Educated to degree level, unless experience level renders degree unnecessary.

- A high degree of numeracy is required as is the ability to communicate in writing – prose & presentation.

- Fluent in English and Hindi languages.

- Ability to travel up to 40% of time across the Indian region.

Preferred Requirements:

- Relevant to the role, but not critical/essential

- Experience working for a top tier multinational corporation.

- Expertise in manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.

- Knowledge of Six & Lean Sigma, OE Capability
