Job Title Head - Islamic Finance ( Managerial Grade)
Department Finance Department
Reporting to AGM Islamic Banking
Main Role (Overall accountability)
Responsible for Islamic banking business profitability and pool management, separation of books of accounts and segregation of funds from conventional counterpart
Principal Accountabilities
- Prepare Islamic banking accounts and financial statements.
- Ensure the segregation of funds between Islamic window and conventional counterparts.
- Assist in placement/ borrowing of shortage or surplus of Islamic banking funds in Sharia complaint solutions.
- Supervision of daily Islamic MM operations including daily checks and controls together.
- Manage the Modariba/ Wakala pool profitability systems.
- Calculation and distribution of profits to Islamic deposit holders, corporate and financial institution accounts.
- Prepare management reports relating to Islamic banking products profitability system.
- Assist in the existing Funds Transfer Pricing reporting system for Islamic banking business in Finance department.
- Assist in managing the segmental profitability systems in Finance department.
- Manage the budgeting exercise pertaining to Islamic banking products and branches.
- Active participation in other MIS related functions of the division.
- Analyse asset liability mismatches of each Islamic banking business segment and suggest ways to improve the net profit margin.
Personnel Specifications
- Professional qualifications preferably Chartered Accountant.
- Should have post qualification experience of over five years in managing Islamic banking business in a banking environment.
- Expert in using MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
