Job Title: Head – Indirect Tax

Reports to: Head of Taxation and Accounts

Location: Mumbai

Company : Pharma Major

No of direct subordinates: 6 - Total 30

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

- CA / LLB

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Indirect taxation

Skills and knowledge required for the position include

- Knowledge of SEZ, EOU Compliance

- A thorough understanding of accounting systems and practice

- An understanding of the requirements of an effective internal controls environment

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all levels within the organisation.

- Representation in front of the Appellate

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsible for Indirect Tax and Compliance Reporting for the entities assigned

Oversee the tax function (in liaison with consultants) to ensure that “the company” satisfies its tax obligations on a timely basis. This includes but not limited to the following:

- Ensuring monthly VAT /CST payments,

- Ensuing monthly/quarterly returns filing of VAT returns

- Follow-up with Commercial Teams for collection of forms (C,F, E1etc)

- Follow up with Purchasing for issue of C forms to vendors

- Preparation of Details for Assessments, VAT Assessments, appeal process

- Co-ordination with Consultants for timely compliances

- Deal with Commissioner or LTU.
