HEAD OF INCLUSIVE GROWTH AND INVESTMENT TEAM  Introduction:   An international government department responsible for administering foreign aid with a goal to promote sustainable development is currently looking to hire their Head of Inclusive Growth & Investment Team.  The reason for hire:   The role of Head of Inclusive Growth & Investment Team provides an exciting and challenging opportunity to lead a large team and budget to develop and deliver a range of high profile private sector led development investments and other partnerships with counterparts in India.  Roles and Responsibilities:  As the Head of the Inclusive Growth and Investment Team (IGI) and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the incumbent will play a senior role in India, helping set the direction, vision and delivery strategy for the office.  The incumbent will be responsible for managing a high-performing multi-disciplinary team of 13 people.  The incumbent will lead India's work on Development Capital investments, Economic Policy, and Skills.   In particular, the incumbent will ensure the delivery of key objectives including:-  - Driving the foreign countries contribution to the development and launch of India's National Infrastructure and Investment Fund.  - Developing and launching a new Start-up program which will be deployed as investment capital to fund TA.  - The successful implementation of the Skills for Jobs program.  - The successful implementation of TA programs in Bihar state.  Maintain and extend strong relationships and partnerships with the Government of India, state governments, civil society, business and other partners.  Ensure excellence in all aspects of the IGI team's program, financial and personnel management.  Be prepared to take on other responsibilities as they arise. This will be a period of considerable dynamic change - so the post-holder will need to be prepared to be flexible and adaptable.  Note: The roles and responsibilities outlined above are not meant to be an exhaustive list of tasks. The need for flexibility is required and the job holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever necessary.  QUALIFICATIONS  The successful candidates will be expected to hold a first degree in a relevant subject (for example Business, Management, Finance, Economics Engineering) and a Masters degree or equivalent work experience that demonstrates a similar level of technical expertise  SKILL AND EXPERIENCE  Minimum of 10 years work experience ideally encompassing work in both private and public sector bodies.  Technical expertise and experience, especially in several of the areas, set out below:  - Finance, corporate finance, investment banking, transactions advisory or banking Private equity, infrastructure, venture capital, social enterprise funds, public private partnerships.  - Start-ups or small and medium enterprises.  - Building businesses and bringing transactions to a successful close.  - Entrepreneurship, innovation, manufacturing, energy, urban, infrastructure, vocational skills  - Employment by and/or engagement with medium or large corporates on policy, investment, operations and/or CSR.  - Excellent understanding of Corporate Governance and best practices.  - Understanding and experience of government or development agency programs that engage with private enterprise and on financial and business sector reform.  Understanding of:-  - Economic policy issues that affect inclusive economic growth and development  - The role of the private sector in development  - The role of finance and investment in development  - Managerial and financial expertise in managing inter-disciplinary teams, planning and managing large budgets and programs.  Communication and IT skills  - Strong writing and oral communication skills in English are essential.
