The position will need to focus on:  - Leading, directing and overseeing all financial systems.  - Transforming, restructuring and aligning financial processes to overall organizational goals and customer service  - Improvement & innovation to derive optimized financial controls and processes resulting in customer delight   - Drive clear deliverable to ensure timely closure of accounts and effective financial management   - Manage various stakeholders expectations and deliverable including auditors, shareholders, peers, employees and business partners  Position Summary  The Head of Financial Accounting will be responsible for controlling the Financial Systems, Processes and Internal Controls.  Reporting to the CFO, this is a key role that will combine knowledge of financial best practices with a strong focus on accounting, reporting, controlling and review of financial processes and leading process improvement initiatives.   Job Description & Key Responsibilities for Head-Financial Accounting  - Leadership of Financial Accounting function at all locations  - Financial systems, processes and internal control systems  - Managing changes in accounting policies, accounting standards and taxation  - Monthly Closing of Books of Accounts for preparation of Revenue A/c, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow etc. under Indian GAAP, IND AS, US GAAP etc. to stakeholders  - Managing audits - statutory, concurrent, internal, tax, systems, special audits etc.   - Managing Payment of Claims, Refunds etc. to customers  - Reinsurance Accounting, settlement and confirmation of balances with reinsurers  - Co-insurance Accounting, settlement and confirmation of balances with co-insurers  - Review and control of Bank Guarantees, Agents/ Other recoverable.  - Manage and control entire Procure To Pay process involving various types of vendors and business partners  - Manage all types of Employee Payments, Reimbursements, Conveyance, Travel claims etc.  - Monitor Cash Flow and Investment Back Office functions for investment accounting  - Review and control of Fixed Assets capitalization, accounting and verification  - Review and control of accounting at all branch offices  - Financial advice to business heads and negotiations with vendors/ partners   - Improvement & innovation to derive optimized processes resulting in customer delight   - Close alignment on process improvement by bringing in technology  PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS  This is an important appointment and will require a talented senior professional, preferably a Chartered Accountant with General Insurance background.   Good understanding of current accounting standards, taxation, IRDA Regulations and Compliance.  The ideal candidate will also be characterized by the following attributes:  - Overall 10+ years of experience with emphasis on financial accounting, financial management activities in a highly customer centric organization across different industries preferably in the Insurance/ Financial Services sector  - Proven track record of leading the implementation and review of world-class standards in financial performance, with best practice change management experience  - Significant breadth of knowledge of accounting standards and models for financial excellence.  - Good command over MS Office - Excel, Power Point, Word and ERP accounting systems.  Management & Leadership Capabilities:  - Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills - able to influence and manage the expectations of senior executives and others  - Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain a network of external financial markets and internal business relationships  - Skilled in analysing complex accounting problems, formulating options and using structured decision-making techniques  - Excellent verbal & written communication skills, good presentation skills and excellent negotiation skills.
