Head - Engineering - HR - BFSI (10-16 yrs)

Strategy:

- Define technology strategy and roadmap for HR function through a mix of

- Review of the bank's existing systems landscape and investment pipeline in HR

- Review of peer banks- approach, and understanding technology and regulatory trends in the HR space

- Extensive engagement with key stakeholders in the bank's HR function and with other technology functions within GTO

- Socialise and obtain commitment to technology strategy and roadmap from key stakeholders. Ensure design complies with architecture principles, data standards, and alignment with HR Technology strategy

- Drive key decisions on technology solutions, including Build and/or Buy, Vendor evaluation and selection, etc. Engineer for - Easy to Build, Run & Support-

Project execution:

- Manage HR project portfolio through a team of Programme Managers and System Solutions experts and with a mix of a team of project managers, business analysts and/or solution architects of the engineering team based in Chennai.

- Oversee successful delivery of projects which cover activities such as development of project investment requests, evaluation of vendor applications, managing definition of define business requirements, development of functional specifications, robust e2e management of user testing, and effective management of implementation process

- Ensure support to HR function through ensuring strong project process disciplines are followed, clarity of roles and responsibilities is in place, early and effective engagement of HR Technology team in Chennai, etc

- Ensure that bank-wide application and data architecture principles are followed, and that strong data disciplines (sourcing, lineage, profiling, etc) are integrated into project execution and continuous maintenance of HR technology estate

Defect identification and correction:

- Conduct periodic reviews of system architecture, usage, capacity, data lineage and quality, interfaces, etc to ensure that they remain Fit for Purpose and Fit for Growth

- Develop and implement processes to perform robust process/system/defects analysis and ensure feedback loop into design and development of solution, as well as into business requirements, functional specifications and testing

Team / Organisation development:

- Develop and maintain a sustainable domain-based organisation structure through creation of strong domain knowledge around the systems managed by the team to:

- Ensure adequate control and governance around the system's functioning

- Help users, auditors and regulators understand how the system functions

- Understand the root causes of issues quickly

- Assess and manage the impact of upstream changes on the system

- Strengthen team through external hiring, internal development, driving clarity on role & responsibility across HR Tech domain, etc, and development of engineering & analytical skills.

Cost & Productivity:

- Manage costs within laid down budgets and PARs. Ensure financial control policies are strictly followed

Control Environment:

- Ensure that Engineering team's processes and activities are in line with operational risk framework

- Ensure that PIRs conducted for all projects managed by HR Engineering team to a high standard, and lessons learnt are fed back into project management and project conduct disciplines and processes

Stakeholder engagement and influence:

- To coordinate with various forums like HR PISC, HR IMGC, etc to influence strategic direction, ensure alignment with roadmap, review roadmap and help implement the decisions
