Head - Design for a Ecommerce Client for Mumbai  Responsibilities :  - Apply best-practice product design principles to drive the development of new products & features to create an optimal user experience while factoring in the organization's business model, the end-user's context and user experience design concepts  - Gain a deep understanding of user motivations, business objectives, market opportunities and competition  - Impart day-to-day strategic design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals.  - Work with product managers and engineers to create a vision for a seamless cross-platform experience that translates to the advantages across platforms  - Guide the team to craft beautifully composed layouts and deftly carved pixels  - Create compelling interaction design: it's not about how it looks, it's about how it acts, moves and feels  - Research, test and analyze user data informs and guides our design decisions  - Resource allocation ensure we are always focusing on the highest priority things, focusing both on the short term needs as well as looking ahead to the next big challenge  Requirements :  - At least 8 years of relevant work experience with 4 years in leading user experience and design team  - Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Architecture / Design or equivalent  - Design specialization from IIT (IDC) Mumbai / NID, Ahmedabad or equivalent  - Is able to plan, drive & integrate team members & process with functioning of Agile Product teams  - In depth knowledge in product design, software engineering, human computer interaction and user-centered design combined with artistic design knowledge  - A strong portfolio that highlights visionary design thinking  - Excellent people management and leadership skills  - Detailed and practical understanding of best practices in user experience design  - Strong project management and implementation skills  - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate and advocate for users  Good to have :  - HFI Certification  - Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed  - Familiarity with user interface patterns for native mobile (iOS/Android) and mobile web.  - Mumbai based
