As a category manager you will be responsible for managing one or a few categories.

The category manager role you will have P&L responsibility for one or a few categories.

The category manager role includes market analysis, competitive analysis, marketing sizing, inventory hole, pricing hole, merchant relationship, category merchandizing, and category issues management.

- Identify suitable markets for Sourcing and Generating Leads

- Attract New Sellers to the Platform using various channels like Trade Attract, Seller Attract, Online Data Mining, Direct marketing, BDE Activity

- Identify High Potential Sellers and consolidate seller base. Develop Programs and Promotions to support and scale the sales level of these sellers, including account management

- Daily Relationship Management activities with top sellers to drive their listings, monitor their operations and revenue growth. Educate Sellers on new Seller Tools

- Conduct Offline Seller Meets once in a quarter to ensure that all the sellers are on parity

- Identify Buyer Needs using Various MIS, checking on the offline trend in the industry, doing buyer surveys, studying market trends and competition data

- Conduct direct dialogue with Rediff Shopping Buyers to inform and learn from the community

- Client servicing and Key account management

- Meet the quarterly revenue targets

An Ideal Candidate Will Possess Following :

- Highly developed skills for problem solving and strategic thinking

- MBA from a top-tier school with an engineering degree preferred

- Excellent communication skills is a must

- Prior experience in E-Commerce, retail, or comparison shopping preferred

- Excellent grip on numbers and goals

- Attention to detail

- Ability to collaborate across departments

- Result oriented and ready to take ownership

- Desire to make impact and high work ethics

This role requires working directly with senior management team
