To continue this path of growth, Amazon is actively seeking to hire Engineering Manager to drive the growth.

In this role you will be single threaded leader for a POD under India Payments tech team. You will be responsible to contribute and drive execution of payments in India. Hire and build a world class tech team which includes senior engineers, engineering manager, QA, Technical Project Managers, etc.

Your responsibilities include (not limited to):

Contribute and execute to Amazon's vision in payments for India.

Collaborate with other platform teams located in India and globally to drive platform and product innovation.

Partner with your business partners to develop product strategy, roadmap and drive project initiatives.

Manage overall software development life cycle

Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.

Instill best practices for software development and documentation, ensure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.

Project management - prioritization, planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments

Operational Excellence - monitoring & operation of production services

Career management and development of direct reports

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience;

15+ years of Software Development experience; 4+ years of experience in building and leading strong engineering teams

Deep hands-on technical expertise

Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, test driven development

Software development experience in Linux, Java, RDBMS, building web services and highly scalable applications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Managed a team of engineers including managing managers

Experience in digital payments online or offline, specifically in India.

Strong ability to deal with ambiguity and think big.

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time

Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.

Ability to mentor and guide managers and develop the best technical team.

Experience developing highly complex, highly scalable, highly available web and mobile platforms.
