HDFC Bank - Merchant Relationship Manager (3-5 yrs)
The Merchants are now requiring eCommerce solution and the market growing rapidly. To bring payment solutions to the merchant and on board to them to the eCommerce platform, a team is required to reach out and cater to the demand.
- Achieve Volume and market share
- Increase sales of our product in the right segment
- Activation and integration of the product
- Retention of the merchants
- Increasing penetration of bank products through cross sell
- Risk monitoring and compliance adherence by the merchant
- Channel Management and training of bank staff across different functions of the channel
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES :
List the expected end results that must be achieved in order to fulfil your job purpose and the activities that help in achieving these results.
EXPECTED END RESULTS MAJOR ACTIVITIES :
- Increase Credit and Debit card volumes through the merchant. Maximise Bank's share. Signing new reln for Ecommerce directly or through team
- Profitability of the reln Portfolio management - Ensuring maximum share of volumes comes to the bank. Retaining the merchants to avoid competition poaching banks merchants.
- Improvement Current account balances Joint efforts with Branches to ensure products and services are offered.
- Improvement of Bank product holding - CA/SA / Asset products Cross sell of bank products
- Increase in market share and product penetration Managing Channels - Branch, CBG, FIG, ECG, others
- Protecting the merchant and bank from malpractise Managing risk and compliance
- Increase in number of leads and conversion Training of bank staff of basic nature of the product.
- Retention of the client Training merchants staff ie Govt bodies / Educational institutes.
DIMENSIONS :
Revenue : Ensure profitability (Interchange and Fee) of the every reln by charging the right price to the merchants.
Volume : Ensure that the volume targets for the year are met. Has to deliver minimum 25cr to 50 crs of Ecom volume annually.
New Sourcing : To deliver on the targets set. Sourcing from the right segment to increase. Has to deliver minimum 50 New sign up annually on Ecom platform.
New Product offers : offer products which are launched time to time. Ie Wallet etc
Portfolio management : Activating and retaining the merchants.
Current Account and float : Meet the CA and Float targets set.
Cross sell : Ensure bank products like SA, FD, Salary, Net banking, etc are given to the merchants.
Risk Management and Compliance : Ensure that the merchant is meeting the guidelines prescribed by the bank.
Description of the Relationships and Roles :
- The position holds working relationships within the company.
- Engagement with product team and tech to ensure client requirement are met
- PG Integration teams to ensure merchants vendors are able to configure their systems
- Service team to ensure our merchants is able to resolve issues
- Operations team to ensure seamless release of TID / Other products and activating them
- Risk team to ensure fraud controls are in place and monitored
- Channels of bank like Branch, CBG, FIG, WBO, IFG etc to ensure their customers get the product and services.
- Finance dept to ensure monies are available for bidding for tenders
- Marketing team to ensure joint meets with banks and start ups and done.
- Product and portfolio teams of issuance and acquiring to ensure issuance offers are done to promote business and visibility.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
- Graduation in Engineering or computer science and Post-graduation in Marketing (MBA)
- Qualifications in project management related assignments
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: :
Minimum experience of 3 -5 years of sales and portfolio management.
- Exposure to sales in corporates or concept selling.
- Managing Reln across senior levels of the Orgn.
- Team management is an added advantage.
- Understanding of MS office and systems is a must.
- Exposure in project / Category / product management
- Exposure in managing govt bodies
- Exposure to manage multiple teams across different functions
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & BEHAVIOURS: :
- High level of confidence and communication skill: The role requires pitching the product to senior officials in corporates of government bodies. Especially in upcountry.
- Ability to influence and convince senior officials and product teams and share technology aspects and get their support.
- High Energy levels : The role involves direct selling and managing channels
- Multi-tasking: Ability to drive different assignments / tasks across one or different merchants across channels.
- Analytical skills and logical reasoning:
Salary offered: 7 - 10 LPA
